Liverpool await offers from three destinations for casualty of Luis Diaz deal

Divock Origi Liverpool

Liverpool are awaiting offers from any of three supposed suitors for Divock Origi after the arrival of Luis Diaz pushed him further down the pecking order.

Diaz became Liverpool’s first signing of the January transfer window when they announced a deal at midday on Sunday. The winger adds a new element to an already exciting attack. He will be featuring alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

But one man who might not get to share a pitch with him so much – if at all – is Divock Origi.

The Belgian forward was already far enough down the pecking order not to have started a Premier League game this season. Now, his chances are even slimmer.

Therefore, The Sun have been reporting that Liverpool will not stand in Origi’s way if a suitable offer arrives – from any of three directions.

The report reminds that Origi is a target for Burnley, who are still looking to sign a successor to Chris Wood after they lost the New Zealand international to Newcastle.

Such a move would therefore give Origi the chance to stay in the Premier League, although he would be shifting his mindset to a relegation battle.

Burnley are keeping him in mind though after their pursuit of Wolfsburg hitman Wout Weghorst faltered at the final stages.

As TEAMtalk exclusively revealed on Sunday, Burnley may also make a bid for QPR forward Lyndon Dykes. But Origi is on their radar too, so it seems.

The 26-year-old also has two suitors in Italy, as previously reported. The Sun confirm that Atalanta and Fiorentina are both assessing the situation.

At Fiorentina, Origi could replace Juventus new boy Dusan Vlahovic. That said, La Viola have already added Krzysztof Piatek and Arthur Cabral.

Still, The Sun insist they have spoken to Origi’s representatives and could wait until the summer to pounce.

Meanwhile, Atalanta are awaiting offers for Duvan Zapata – linked with Newcastle – and could turn to Origi if they lose him.

Origi’s record for Liverpool is 40 goals from 167 games. He has scored five from 10 in all competitions so far this season.
