Liverpool's Curtis Jones celebrates with Fabinho

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has all but completed his move to Saudi club Al Ittihad as Fabrizio Romano has given his “here we go” ahead of the switch.

The move has been on the cards for quite some time and Fabinho now looks set to complete his move to the Saudi Pro League.

Following Jordan Henderson’s switch to Al-Ettifaq, Fabinho will become the latest Premier League star to make the jump to Saudi Arabia.

Al Ittihad have had a noteworthy transfer window so far as they have already snapped up the likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Jota.

Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to break the news that Fabinho has passed his medical and the deal is now expected to go ahead.

“Fabinho has completed medical tests as Al Ittihad player, here we go,” the journalist revealed.

“Liverpool and Al Ittihad are still waiting to sign documents, medical approved as verbal agreement has been reached. Deal being completed and sealed on three year contract.”

According to reports, Liverpool will receive around £40m for Fabinho. Considering his age and dip in form last season, the Reds have done fairly well out of this deal.

Across his five seasons with the club, Fabinho made a total of 219 appearances and he won seven trophies in that time. His absence will be felt at the club, but Klopp already has his replacement in mind.

Liverpool ‘confident’ on landing Romeo Lavia

With Fabinho almost out of the door, Liverpool are set to ramp up their interest in Lavia. The Reds have already seen an offer of around £37m rejected as Southampton are said to be holding out for £50m.

Liverpool have already agreed personal terms with the player and so it is now just a question of the two clubs agreeing a transfer fee.

As Klopp’s side prepare to table their next bid for the 19-year-old, Romano has stated that the Reds are confident of landing a deal.

“At the moment, the feeling is that Liverpool are the big favourites. They are going to bid again,” Romano told GIVEMESPORT.

“They feel that the player is prepared to say ‘yes’, so I think they are confident. But now it’s time to close the deal.”

While Lavia perhaps isn’t at the elite level yet, his potential is enormous. Despite Southampton’s struggles, the teenager often showcased moments of quality.

In the right environment, there’s no reason why Lavia can’t reach the next level. The Belgium international won an average of 2.1 tackles per game, which was slightly more than Fabinho managed last season.

Liverpool’s midfield trio was guilty of looking leggy at times last season, but that shouldn’t be the case with Lavia in the mix.

Paired alongside the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool fans will have a new midfield trio to get excited about.
