Liverpool named by source as one of two possible destinations for free-agent World Cup winner

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly very much keen on the capture of Ousmane Dembele, who is available on a free transfer this summer.
Dembele will be out of contract with Barcelona in the summer and looks unlikely to renew. With that in mind, they tried to sell him in January, but failed to find a buyer. Since, though, several clubs have been tipped to take him on a free.
For example, there have been links with Chelsea, under the direction of his former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel.
However, according to reports earlier this month, both the Blues and Juventus have dropped out of the running for Dembele. Chelsea, of course, have their own issues right now, meaning that the signing of players is strictly forbidden as things stand.
Manchester United are also being touted as a potential destination. With Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani and possibly Cristiano Ronaldo due to leave this summer, United could have a void to fill in their attack.
For Dembele, though, he now very much stands at a career crossroads.
And while a January move for the World Cup winner never materialised, reports in Spain suggest a free move this summer looks to be on.
Winger considering two potential clubs
Indeed, Mundo Deportivo journalist Xavier Bosch explains Dembele could be headed ‘towards Paris or Liverpool’, if he were to not sign a new deal with the La Liga side.
He reports that a move to Paris would be a ‘comfortable destination’ for the winger. Having been born in Vernon, a move to Paris would take him within an hour of his hometown.
Furthermore, he may be seen as an ideal replacement for Kylian Mbappe, were he to leave the French capital this summer.
In addition, he would be teaming back up with Lionel Messi, with whom he gets along with.

Liverpool's 'golden opportunity' to land Ousmane Dembele
Liverpool have been alerted to what could be a golden opportunity after Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele reportedly rejected the clubs latest contract offer, with more news on Adama Traore and Christian Pulisic.
Despite this, Bosch, however, claims the World Cup winner may actually pick a move to Merseyside. Indeed, he describes Liverpool as the ‘best option’ for the winger.
According to the report, Klopp is beginning to fear the departure of Mohamed Salah next season. As such, it’s suggested he reckons Dembele’s ‘pace and dribbling would amaze at Anfield’.
Salah linked with move to replace Dembele at Barcelona
Salah, meanwhile, is reportedly on Xavi’s shopping list for Barcelona this summer.
The Egyptian winger, 29, has repeatedly reiterated his desire to remain at Anfield beyond his current contract. Salah’s deal expires in the summer of 2023, though talk over a new deal has been halted.
Varying reports have suggested Salah is hoping to land upwards of £300,000-per-week. However, Liverpool do not want to smash their wage structure for one player – even one as important as Salah.
Predictably, that has led to a groundswell of speculation linking Salah with a blockbuster move away. If Liverpool reach the conclusion a new contract isn’t viable and decide to cash in, the most logical time to sell would be this summer.
Barcelona, for their part, are reportedly also chasing Erling Haaland.
That deal now looks difficult for them – so speculation in Spain is strongly suggesting a move for Salah instead.
