Liverpool, Chelsea blown out water by Euro giant for Crystal Palace star as ‘offer’ is received

Liverpool and Chelsea are on the back foot as reports have suggested transfer target Wilfried Zaha wants to move to Barcelona following ‘offer’.
Zaha is often the subject of interest from big names. In previous transfer windows, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton have all been linked with the Ivorian.
It’s little wonder why, given how much of a talent he has been for years at Crystal Palace.
Indeed, Zaha’s best Premier League haul of goals and assists in a seasons was 20, in the 2018/19 season. His best tally of goals alone came just last season, as the winger bagged 14 times – the best haul of any season in any league during his career.
That speaks of a player that has improved year on year. The fact that he has continued in his fine form this season reinforces that.
Zaha has scored six goals and provided two assists in 12 games so far. That puts him top on the list of Palace’s top goalscorers – two goals above the next best tally.
Interest has remained for some time, and is hotting up now, with Zaha out of contract at the end of the season.
Many Premier League sides have thrown their hats in the ring for the Palace star. Of late, Liverpool and Chelsea have been two of the most heavily-linked sides.
Reports also remain regarding interest from Arsenal.
Zaha wants Barcelona move
Zaha seems unmoved by constant reports regarding a move to another club. Indeed, recently, he stressed he was “devoted” to Palace until his deal was up.
Whether or not he is to renew his deal remains to be seen.
However, a report from Spanish outlet Sport claims Zaha is actively trying to push a move through. It states that Barcelona have ‘received an offer’ from the star.
Zaha reportedly wants to ‘try his luck’ in Spain, and Barcelona is the destination he’d like to do it at.
Of course, a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs would be massive for the winger. Whether or not they will want to take him onboard is another question.
They have a wealth of attacking talent on their books, and Zaha’s last venture to a big side did not pan out too well. Of course, he is a much more experienced player than he was when he moved to Manchester United in 2013, and in very good form.
Barca move could come to fruition
It does seem unlikely that Barcelona would want to sign Zaha. While he is clearly a very good player, they have had some of the world’s very best talents in recent years – Zaha does not fit into that category.
However, Sport claims Barca would ‘seriously consider’ taking him onboard, given they would be getting a talented player for no cost.
That would obviously be to the detriment of the Premier League sides that are keen on him. He would surely be a top asset for any of those, given how he has performed in England over the past few seasons.
That form has meant he is deserving of a move, and if he can make one to Barca, he should do everything in his power to make the most of that opportunity.
