Two sources have confirmed Liverpool are primed to complete a Leicester raid, and a similar type of deal involving West Ham is also taking shape.

With Brexit making it near-impossible for English sides to stockpile their youth ranks with European talent, clubs like Liverpool are looking closer to home.

According to two sources, the Reds have fixed their gaze on Leicester and a move for 16-year-old midfielder Trey Nyoni is quickly taking shape.

Nyoni holds dual English and Zimbabwean citizenship, though chose to represent England at Under-16 level.

The Foxes starlet has been targeted by Liverpool and per reporter David Lynch, a transfer is ‘in the final stages’.

A move could reportedly be wrapped up ‘imminently’ as Liverpool push to sign young British talent to bolster their academy.

Bobby Clark and Ben Doak are recent examples of the new recruitment strategy. Clark arrived from Newcastle, while Doak came via Celtic and both have impressed in pre-season. Liverpool’s hope is Nyoni will walk a similar path in the ensuing years.

Nyoni has already posted a goodbye message to Leicester on his Instagram account following 10 years on the club’s books.

As an indication of how quickly Nyoni is developing, the 16-year-old featured regularly in Leicester’s Under-18s last term.

The Daily Mail provided a brief update of their own on Liverpool’s move for Nyoni. While not going into detail, they stated the Reds are ‘closing in’ on Nyoni.

West Ham raid also takes shape

Once signed, Nyoni could quickly be followed into Liverpool’s youth ranks by West Ham starlet, Amara Nallo.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday afternoon that Liverpool are negotiating the signing of the 16-year-old centre-half.

Nallo only signed scholarship terms with the Hammers back in May, though could be on the move to Anfield just a few months later.
