Sadio Mane exit latest: Liverpool make firm promise to attacker but onus now on Bayern Munich

Sadio Mane Liverpool May 2022

Liverpool have reportedly given Sadio Mane their word that he can leave Anfield for Bayern Munich, although the Bundesliga giants will have to match their valuation of the forward first.

Mane has now jetted off on holiday, after starring for Senegal in two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers during the end-of-season international break, and has left his agent Bjorn Bezemer to resolve his future.

The Reds are expected to resume talks with Bayern over Mane, who wants out of Anfield after six years on Merseyside.

The reigning Bundesliga champions have so far failed with two offers for the 30-year-old. Indeed, Liverpool deemed both bids ‘laughable’, with the latest worth up to £30m but included £6.5m in add-ons.

But the Daily Express reports that Bayern are expected to return to the table with another offer. And they claim that if that bid is structured properly then a deal could finally be struck.

The report adds that Mane is not concerned by the delay, given his strong relationship with Liverpool.

The Reds are said to have promised Mane he can leave, with personal terms already agreed with Bayern. Indeed, the Senegal star is expected to secure a three-year deal in Munich.

Mane tipped to fill Lewandowski void

Bayern are hopeful Mane can in some way fill the void left by Robert Lewandowksi’s likely exit. However, there are also rumours that the winger’s arrival may even tempt the Pole into a surprise U-turn.

Thiago offers Sadio Mane his house in Munich ahead of Bayern move

Liverpool midfielder Thiago has offered Sadio Mane his house in Munich if the winger moves to Bayern Munich this summer.

Liverpool forked out £34m to sign the winger from Southampton in 2016. He has gone on to score 120 goals in 269 games for the club in all competitions.

Mane has also tasted Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup success in his time on Merseyside.

The Reds are able to part company with one of their star men after signing Darwin Nunez from Benfica in a big-money deal.
