Sadio Mane Liverpool return: Bayern star makes huge decision on Klopp reunion amid Tuchel ‘pressure’ and record fine

Sadio Mane has made a final decision on whether he will push to return to Liverpool this summer amid all his problems at Bayern Munich, according to a report.

Mane established himself as a hero at Liverpool by scoring an impressive 120 goals in 269 appearances for the club. He formed a deadly attacking trio with Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, helping Jurgen Klopp’s side win illustrious trophies such as the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.

However, the left winger refused to pen a new contract at Liverpool, which would have extended his terms beyond 2024. He wanted to take part in a new challenge and he saw this as his best bet to achieve a transfer.

Mane ended up leaving Liverpool for Bayern, with the move costing the Bundesliga giants a reported £35million.

Unfortunately for Mane, he has not had the most successful debut season in Bavaria. He has scored 11 goals in 32 matches, which represents a downturn in form compared to his Liverpool days.

He has also been fined a record amount by Bayern after allegedly punching team-mate Leroy Sane in the face recently. As per Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Mane was forced to pay €300,000 (£260,000), the biggest fine a Bayern player has ever had to pay the club.

There have been rumours that Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel wants to get rid of the Senegal international in the summer, as a result of both his underwhelming first season in Germany and his bust-up with Sane. According to Football Insider, Mane has told those close to him he ‘misses Liverpool’ and that he is ‘aching’ for a Premier League return.

However, Sky Sport Germany (as cited by Deadline Day Live on Twitter) report that Mane ultimately wants to stay at the Allianz Arena and turn his Bayern fortunes around.

Sadio Mane rejects Liverpool return chance

Despite receiving ‘pressure’ to leave the club, including from Tuchel, Mane is ‘determined’ to overcome his recent issues and become a big hit at Bayern.

While the forward still has plenty of love and respect for Liverpool, he does not think it is the right choice for him to go back so soon.

The 31-year-old has usually shown a great attitude in the past and he will work hard to impress Tuchel both this season and next.

Liverpool supporters will likely be sad about Mane deciding not to complete an Anfield return. He became an integral player under Klopp thanks to both his attacking prowess and hard-working nature.

However, Klopp now has different forwards he can turn to, such as Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez. They both got on the scoresheet as Liverpool thrashed Leeds 6-1 on Monday night.

Meanwhile, Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Liverpool could take part in a ‘revolution’ this summer by signing three players in particular.
