Sadio Mane entrusts Thiago to help secure Bayern Munich move, asking big favour of Liverpool star

Sadio Mane has reportedly asked Thiago Alcantara if he can stay in his Liverpool team-mate’s Munich residence as he looks to secure a move to Bayern.

Mane wants to leave Merseyside this summer to pursue a dream next move to the Bundesliga winners. Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has convinced the Senegal star that he can become the new main man in Bavaria.

Bayern are consequently trying to agree a deal with Liverpool to snap the 30-year-old up.

While they have had a £21million bid rejected, Bayern expect the Reds to accept their next offer.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail now reveals how Mane is doing his bit to smoothen the potential transition to Germany.

He has reportedly asked Thiago if he can move into the Spaniard’s vacant house in Munich.

Thiago left his residence in the German city when he signed for Liverpool in September 2020. The property has subsequently been left vacant, but now Mane has asked a favour of his Reds colleague.

Thiago spent seven years at Bayern, winning seven Bundesliga titles and the Champions League.

Mane is looking to help lead the club to more success amid doubt over star striker Robert Lewandowski’s future. The Poland international confirmed again on Monday that he wants to leave Bayern, with Barcelona in his sights.

The potential transfers for Mane and Lewandowski would prove two of the most eye-catching of the summer window.

However, Mane remains a Liverpool player for now, with Bayern yet to snap up the Africa Cup of Nations winner.

Liverpool reportedly want as much as £42.5million for their star man, who has scored 120 goals in six seasons at Anfield.

Liverpool midfielder Thiago has offered Sadio Mane his house in Munich if the winger moves to Bayern Munich this summer.

He has therefore proved a driving force in the six major trophies of the Jurgen Klopp era so far. As a result, Liverpool do not want to lose him on the cheap.

Nevertheless, they have to accept that they may not get full price for a player who is entering the final year of his deal.

Only a matter of time

It seems only a matter of time before Mane secures his move to Bayern.

It has become clear that a new contract looks unlikely, not only because of the forward’s desire for a new challenge.

Indeed, reports have claimed that Mane wanted close to £400,000 per week to renew his Anfield terms.

Liverpool, though, are sticking to their strict wage structure, at the top of which sit Thiago, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool are facing similar issues with Salah as they are with Mane, but the Egyptian has confirmed that he is staying on Merseyside next season.
