Liverpool star ‘offered’ to Euro giant where link-up with Jurgen Klopp favourite awaits

Liverpool midfielders Fabinho and Naby Keita

Where one of several Liverpool players who’ll leave Anfield this summer might play next season has been revealed after a European giant were offered his services, per a report.

The upcoming summer promises to be one of great change for Liverpool. A new sporting director will be installed with Julian Ward set to depart. A new challenge at Ajax has reportedly been agreed.

Closer to the pitch, Liverpool are expected to embark on a midfield rebuild.

Indeed, that department of Jurgen Klopp’s squad is widely believed to have been the biggest factor in Liverpool’s sub-par season.

If the lack of quality wasn’t problem enough, there’ll soon be a numbers issue too with multiple exits on the way.

Arthur Melo will return to Juventus once his loan deal concludes. The option to buy will not be activated.

Vice-captain James Milner is a free agent at season’s end and despite Klopp’s protestations, Liverpool are yet to offer the 37-year-old an extension.

Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano confirmed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita will leave as free agents.

Interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain is already being shown by numerous Premier League sides. For Keita, a move to mainland Europe appears his likeliest outcome at present.

Keita offered to Euro giant

The 28-year-old has been linked with Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig in recent times. He’s understood to still be highly rated in Germany, though according to Calciomercato, a move to Italy could await.

That’s because Keita has reportedly been ‘offered’ to Serie A powerhouse, AC Milan.

The Rossoneri are reportedly on the hunt for several cost-effective signings at season’s end. Keita’s status as an impending free agent ticks that box.

Milan chiefs Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are said to have already been offered a host of players for next season. Among them is Keita whose name has been put forward by his representatives.

In the event Keita did secure a move to Milan, he’d link back up with former Reds favourite, Divock Origi.

The Belgian earned cult hero status at Anfield through his incredibly timely goals in the most important of matches.

Origi joined Milan as a free agent last summer, though is yet to show the type of form that Liverpool fans know he’s capable of.

He’s scored just twice in a Milan shirt from 25 appearances thus far. Most frustrating of all for Origi will be the fact the majority of those appearances have once again come from the bench. Unfortunately, a starting role continues to elude him.

In any case, he’ll be hoping it’s second season lucky next term and per Calciomercato, Origi could soon be joined by a familiar face from Liverpool.
