Liverpool are in need of a midfield revamp in 2023 and they have reportedly been keeping an eye on a lot of potential targets.
The Reds need to strengthen their midfield as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner are just six months away from becoming free agents and are likely to leave Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly on the lookout for at least two big-name midfield additions as he looks to get Liverpool back up the Premier League table.
We’ve taken a look at every midfielder that Liverpool have been linked with since the summer transfer window closed.

Moises Caicedo
Sky Sports have revealed that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Caicedo’s situation while a report from Football Insider states that the Brighton midfielder is ‘definitely interested’ in joining the Reds.
Declan Rice
Speaking to TEAMtalk, Graeme Bailey has revealed that Chelsea remain Rice’s most likely destination but Liverpool are likely to express an interest in signing the West Ham captain.
Matheus Nunes
Despite only joining Wolves last summer, Nunes has already been linked with a move away and the Daily Telegraph claim that Liverpool are exploring a deal to buy the Portugal international.
Ruben Neves
According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are weighing up a move for Neves as Klopp is a big admirer of the Wolves midfielder.
Joao Palhinha
Palhinha has been enjoying an impressive debut season at Fulham and journalist Dean Jones claims Liverpool are ‘casting an eye’ on the 27-year-old ahead of a potential move for him this summer.
Alexis Mac Allister
After Mac Allister helped Argentina win the World Cup, reports in Italy suggested that Liverpool are interested in signing the midfielder from Brighton.
Mason Mount
Mount is yet to sign a contract extension at Chelsea and The Guardian state that Liverpool are keeping track of the growing uncertainty around his future.
N’Golo Kante
Spanish outlet Nacional state that Klopp believes that Kante would fit in perfectly at Anfield and has now asked the Liverpool board to sign the midfielder, who is available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Conor Gallagher
Alongside Mount and Kante, Liverpool are also keeping an eye on another Chelsea midfielder as the Daily Mail revealed that they like Gallagher.

Bentancur has enjoyed an impressive first year at Tottenham and Fichajes reported that his performances in north London have attracted interest from Liverpool.

Tielemans is set to become a free agent at the end of the 2022/23 season and journalist Paul Brown has revealed that Liverpool are the dark horses to land the Leicester City midfielder.
James Maddison
Maddison has been in excellent form for Leicester in the Premier League this season and Spanish outlet Fichajes claim that he has become a ‘top target’ for Liverpool.
Bruno Guimaraes
As per TNT Sport in Brazil, Klopp’s side are ready to battle both Chelsea and Real Madrid for the Newcastle United midfielder.
Ethan Nwaneri
The Times claim that Liverpool are keeping tabs on the 15-year-old, who made his senior debut for Arsenal earlier this season.

French source Jeunes Footeux reported that Liverpool and Chelsea both hold an interest in the Sheffield United midfielder and have been attentive to his situation.

Hall has been enjoying a breakthrough season at Birmingham City and a report from Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are plotting a move for the 18-year-old.

Liverpool reportedly made an enquiry for Valverde in the summer and Fichajes claimed they would make a fresh January approach for the Real Madrid midfielder.
Frenkie de Jong
De Jong has been heavily linked with Manchester United in recent months but ESPN claim that Liverpool have also made contact with the midfielder’s representatives.

Merino has been in brilliant form for Real Sociedad this season and journalist Rudy Galetti claims that he is now on Klopp’s list of midfield targets.
Guido Rodriquez
Fichajes also reported that Liverpool and Everton have both been impressed by Real Betis’ Rodriquez, who would be available for around €30m.
Marcos Llorente
Llorente is valued at around £35m as Atletico Madrid look to balance the books and a report from Fichajes states that Liverpool are willing to table an offer of that size.
Yunus Musah
Musah impressed at the World Cup and 90min have since said that Liverpool have made contact with his representatives to register their interest in a transfer.

Teun Koopmeiners
As per TuttoAtalanta, Liverpool sounded out Koopmeiners’ availability with Atalanta and were informed about his €40m price tag.
Sofyan Amrabat
Amrabat shot to prominence following his performances at the World Cup and Foot Mercato journalist Anas Bakhkhar revealed that Klopp has already met his agent.
Eljif Elmas
According to journalist Ahmet Ercanlar, Jurgen Klopp spoke to Elmas over the phone and told the Napoli midfielder that he wants him at Liverpool.
Piotr Zielinski
Zielinski reportedly came close to joining Liverpool in 2016 and journalist Rudy Galetti claims that the Napoli star is on Klopp’s list of targets once again.

Another Napoli midfielder, Lobotka has also attracted interest from Liverpool, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.

Rabiot’s Juventus contract expires at the end of the season and 90min reported that Liverpool have been in regular contact with the player’s representatives.
Weston McKennie
The Daily Mail claim that Liverpool are open to loan deals as they look to bolster their midfield and could turn to Juventus’ McKennie.

It’s safe to assume that this one won’t be happening as Bennacer has now signed a new long-term contract with AC Milan.
Marcelo Brozovic
As per Calciomercatoweb, Liverpool are looking to offload Naby Keita and are willing to offer him to Inter Milan as part of a deal to sign Brozovic.
Nicolo Barella
Alongside Brozovic, Calciomercatoweb also claim that Liverpool have a concrete interest in Barella and Inter may have to sell him due to financial difficulties.

Jude Bellingham
It’s no secret that Bellingham is Liverpool’s top transfer target in 2023 and this has been confirmed by the likes of Fabrizio Romano, Bild and many more.
Recently, it was reported that Liverpool might be in the box seat. They are apparently ready to offer Bellingham’s dad a job as a scout and keep tabs on the midfielder’s brother, who is rising through the ranks at Birmingham City.
Konrad Laimer
Liverpool were heavily linked with the RB Leipzig midfielder but Romano has since confirmed that he’s agreed to join Bayern Munich.
Jesper Lindstrom
Lindstrom has admitted that he’s a Liverpool fan and his impressive displays for Eintracht Frankfurt have caught Klopp’s attention.

While reports of a pre-contract agreement with Fernandez have since been debunked, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool are monitoring the Benfica midfielder.
Florentino Luis
Alongside Fernandez, Liverpool are also interested in one of his Benfica team-mates. O Jogo claim that the Reds have made exploratory contacts for Luis but Benfica are in a strong negotiating position as he’s just signed a new deal.
Mohammed Kudus
