Liverpool are ready to boost their attack in January by going back in for a long-term Jurgen Klopp target, Chelsea fancy two stars amid fears Mason Mount may be lured away, while Monday’s Transfer Gossip claims Inter Milan are pushing hard to sign a Manchester City defender.

JURGEN KLOPP WANTS JEREMY DOKU AT LIVERPOOL

Liverpool are reportedly set to open talks with Rennes over a January deal for Jeremy Doku, according to reports.

The Belgian striker is a long-term target for Klopp, who always viewed the player as a long-term successor to Sadio Mane.

But with Mane now since departed, the Reds have seemingly never lost sight of Doku.

Indeed, Klopp and Liverpool saw a £25m bid to sign Doku fail back in 2017 while still a teenager. At the time, he moved to Rennes, feeling it was best for his career development and that a move to Anfield may come too soon.

Now there are growing claims that Rennes might be ready to cash in on the striker, with Liverpool reportedly at the front of the queue.

Per Calciomercato, Klopp has ‘never stopped thinking about and will return’ for Doku when the winter window opens.

And, according to the latest reports, Rennes are seemingly seeking a fee of around £30m for the attacker.

Never the most prolific, the 21-year-old has only scored four times in 62 Rennes appearances.

However, Klopp is a huge admirer of his and believes he can get a tune from Doku.

The German, though, will not have things all his own way. Both Napoli and Juventus are also considering moves amid growing claims that Rennes are ready to cash in.

CHELSEA CONSIDER DUO AS MASON MOUNT EXIT FEARS GROW

Chelsea are looking at two potential replacements for Mason Mount amid fears the England star could quit Stamford Bridge.

Mount has just 20 months remaining on his Chelsea contract and talks over an extension are yet to see an agreement reached. Those talks with the 23-year-old have been going on for some time, with talks first opening earlier this year.

Chelsea are desperate to retain his services after scoring 13 times and adding 16 assists in all competitions last season. And with 11 Premier League goals, he finished the season as their leading scorer ahead of Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz.

As such, Mount is reportedly looking to double his current £80,000 a week salary. However, the two parties are yet to find common ground and fears are mounting that the player may have had his head turned.

And with time ticking away, Chelsea are looking around for potential replacements.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea are eyeing Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino as their preferred replacement.

The teenager has a growing reputation in LaLiga, having played his part in 11 goals in 38 appearances last season.

Linked with Arsenal over the summer, the Yellow Submarine reportedly value the winger at around £40m.

The Bliues are also reportedly keen on Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini, who is rated at nearer £50m.

The 26-year-old Italy star  – now in his sixth season with the capital club – has 46 goals from 257 career appearances.

INTER MILAN KEEN ON NATHAN AKE

Inter Milan are reportedly considering a deal to sign Manchester City defender Nathan Ake in January.

The 2021 Italian champions are struggling to find their best form this season, and currently sit down in seventh. Indeed, they have lost four times in their nine matches played so far.

And their disappointing form has led to some speculation over Simeone Inzaghi’s future as manager.

There are mitigating circumstances, however. The Nerazzurri have a whole manner of defensive issues with Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar both nearing the end of their deals.

Indeed, the pair find themselves out of contract next summer and able to discuss free moves abroad from January 1.

To that end, Skriniar is being strongly linked with Paris Saint-Germain, while Tottenham are pushing for De Vrij.

And with the hunt for a replacement well underway, trusted transfer journalist Ekrem Konur claims they are eyeing a move for Ake.

The Netherlands defender has not always been a regular in Pep Guardiola’s side.

However, he is now a trusted member of the Man City defence, playing eight times in all competitions this season.

That said, Konur claims Inter are working to try and tempt Ake to the San Siro by making him the new cornerstone of their defence.

Guardiola, though, will surely put up a strong resistence and any deal in January looks tough.
