Transfer Gossip: Liverpool considering offloading top star in shock £60m deal this summer; Chelsea offer attacker to Juventus in De Ligt swap

Liverpool pair Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool are seriously considering selling talisman Mo Salah this summer to recoup a decent fee for the forward, while Saturday’s Transfer Gossip claims that Chelsea are ready to offer Timo Werner as a makeweight in a deal for Juventus defender Matthijs De Ligt.

SHOCK SALAH EXIT ON THE CARDS

Liverpool are reportedly considering the shock sale of talismanic forward Mo Salah this summer.

Owners FSG are said to be weighing up a sale if they get an offer in the region of £60million, with Real Madrid currently monitoring the Egypt star’s situation.

Salah could follow Sadio Mane out of the door after the Reds sold the winger to Bayern Munich for £35m.

And although losing Salah and Mane in the same window appears unthinkable, the former only has a year left on his contract.

That situation means this summer is Liverpool‘s best chance of earning a decent fee, if Salah refuses to sign a new long-term contract.

So far there has been deadlock in negotiations, with Salah wanting around £400,000-a-week to stay.

The 30-year-old currently earns slightly under the £240,000-a-week top earner Virgil van Dijk gets.

Real want Salah as statement signing

As reported in The Sun, Real are currently waiting patiently and watching developments. But there is no doubt they are after a marquee attacking signing, having failed in bids to land Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

As for Liverpool’s forward power, they added to it in a significant way by landing Darwin Nunez from Benfica.

Luis Diaz will also begin his first full season as a Reds player is Mane’s position on the left.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have also been urged to make a move for Leeds United winger Raphinha as a long-term Salah replacement.

CHELSEA TO OFFER WERNER AS DE LIGT MAKEWEIGHT

Hakim Ziyech; Timo Werner Chelsea

Chelsea have reportedly offered Timo Werner to Juventus in negotiations for defender Matthijs De Ligt.

The Netherlands star has been identified as Thomas Tuchel’s top centre-back target, as he looks to replace both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen at Stamford Bridge.

However, Sky Sports’ Gianluca Di Marzio claims Juve are not happy with the current offer on the table from Chelsea.

In turn, that has led to the Blues offering Germany forward Werner as a makeweight in the deal.

De Ligt is currently under contract until 2024, which includes a release clause worth £103million.

But should Tuchel fail in his attempts to land De Ligt then their are other targets on his shortlist.

Torino’s Gleison Bremer ia also on their radar. A deal for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde has also been mooted for some time.

WEST HAM TO ANNOUNCE AREOLA DEAL

West Ham are reportedly close to permanently signing Alphonse Areola for £10.5m following his season-long loan from PSG.

The Sun claims the Hammers will announce the signing next week after agreeing personal terms with the player.

Areola, 29, was mainly used as a back up for No.1 Lukasz Fabianski in the Premier League last season. However, the report suggests that he could force the Pole out ofthat role when he signs on the dotted line.

Nayef Aguerd has been the club’s only signing so far this summer but more are expected to follow.
