Liverpool have seemingly learned where Barcelona target Mohamed Salah wants to play his football next season, Alexandre Lacazette has been offered a tempting route out of Arsenal, while Saturday’s Paper Talk reveals Kieran Tierney’s future amid interest from Real Madrid.
SALAH BARCELONA TALK GATHERS PACE
Mohamed Salah has reportedly made up his mind on a move to Barcelona – and will do ‘everything on his part’ to ensure the move goes through.
The talismanic Egyptian is fronting up to a huge career crossroads. With his Anfield deal expiring in summer 2023, talks over a new deal have been ongoing for months.
However, with an agreement still some distance away, fears are mounting that Salah may depart.
Indeed, as the deal is likely to represent the last major pay-day of Salah’s career, the Egyptian is understandably trying to maximise his salary.
But Reds owners, FSG, do have a limit and talk of a £400,000 a week deal is simply out the question. On Friday, a report claimed Liverpool are preparing a final offer to Salah.
Their headline claims Salah will ‘do everything on his part’ to ensure he gets his move to the Nou Camp.
Xavi aware of Salah wish
Citing reports in Spain, they claim Salah has let it be known that he wants to join Xavi’s revolution at the Nou Camp. And in turn, Barcelona are also aware of Salah’s desire and will also push to make the move happen.
Salah wants Barcelona move to work with Xavi

The article claims Liverpool, for their part, have responded by claiming their will be no negotiations for Salah. Instead, Liverpool will simply demand a bumper fee for Salah which Barcelona must meet if they are to sign the player.
However, with his contract expiring the summer after, Barcelona know Liverpool do not have a strong hand.
And the Reds simply cannot afford to let a £100m asset enter the final year of his contract. And with a free transfer a growing possibility, Barcelona will hope Liverpool may be backed into a corner.
BARCELONA ALSO CHASING ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE
Astonishingly, Barcelona are also looking at a deal for Alexandre Lacazette this summer, claims a report.
The French striker becomes a free agent at the end of the season, with his deal at Arsenal expiring. And while the Gunners want to tie him down to a new deal, the possibility remains that he will leave Emirates Stadium on a free.
As per The Sun, Barcelona are keen to reunite Lacazette with his old Arsenal partner in crime, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang has made an excellent start to life at the Nou Camp, with nine goals in 11 appearances.
But the report claims his game could improve further if they brought in Lacazette to play alongside him.
In return, Barcelona are looking to move on both Martin Braithwaite and Memphis Depay. However, there is no suggestion Arsenal want either.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta doesn’t exactly appear in a hurry to tie Lacazette down. Indeed, he lately waved away the possibility of holding talks mid season and says nothing will emerge until the summer.
“We have discussed that at the end of the season, when we know where we are we are going, to make a decision together [on Lacazette’s future].
“We agreed the decision is to do it in the summer [assess the situation] and that’s when we are going to do it,” he said.
However, the fact Barcelona are now in the running to sign Lacazette will come as a huge blow to Arsenal and their chances of keeping him into next season.
KIERAN TIERNEY WON’T HAVE HIS HEAD TURNED
One Arsenal man who doesn’t appear to have any interest in a move to Spain is Kieran Tierney.
Reports earlier this week claimed Real Madrid are looking to sign the Scotland star in potential £50m deal this summer.
However, according to Football.London, Tierney is in no mood to quit the Gunners any time soon.
Tierney has been a revelation at Arsenal since joining from Celtic in 2019. Now injury-free, he has made the left-back spot his own this season.
As such, he is reportedly loving life at the club and has no interest in switching to Real Madrid.
Tierney’s deal at Arsenal currently runs until 2026 and he plans to honour that commitment.
“I think the vision of the club and where it wants to go, the expectations of the club is where I want to be in football, at the top,” he said, upon signing a new deal last summer.
“There’s no doubt about it that we’re not where we want to be just now. We’re going in the right direction.
“The way the club is run from the inside is amazing, I love everyone. – all the staff, the players, the manager. And working with them is an absolute joy.
“So being happy in life speaks for a lot and I am happy. And I am more than happy to commit my future.”
Tierney has made 87 appearances since his £25m move three years ago.
