Paper Talk: Strong possibility raised of incredible Paul Pogba switch to Man Utd’s biggest rivals

Manchester United face the very real possibility of seeing Paul Pogba sign for their deadliest rivals, Leeds star Raphinha fancies a move to Spain, while Newcastle are ready to smash their record to sign a Crystal Palace star, according to Thursday’s papers.

Paul Pogba open to move to Premier League rivals

Manchester United contract rebel Paul Pogba is ready to open talks over a sensational free transfer move within the Premier League.

The France midfielder becomes a free agent at the end of the season and can leave Old Trafford for nothing. United’s efforts to hand him a new deal have so far been met with rejection – meaning their record £89.3m signing could quit the Red Devils for nothing for the second time in his career.

He has been linked with the likes of PSG, Real Madrid and Juventus. Indeed, a report on Wednesday claimed a record move to Paris appears most likely.

However, in an exclusive report, the Daily Telegraph claims Pogba is, in fact, open to the idea of a move within the Premier League.

Of course, very few clubs could actually afford to match Pogba’s enormous £290,000 a week wage demands. As such, the paper claims a move to Chelsea looks the most likely.

They state Mino Raiola has spoken to Chelsea in the past about a move to Stamford Bridge for his client.

However, there also remains the possibility that Pogba could also be lured across Manchester to City.

That move would certainly be controversial, though not an exclusive one given Carlos Tevez did exactly the same back in 2009.

Klopp looking to steal Paul Pogba

Worse for United though would be were for Pogba to move to Liverpool. That possibility has already been raised via reports earlier this season.

However, the paper refuses to rule Liverpool out of the equation with Jurgen Klopp looking to freshen up his midfield.

The paper also leaves open the possibility that Pogba could yet sign a new deal with United.

Much will depend on where they finish this season. Either way, it seems like Premier League audiences will continue to see Pogba in one form or another into next season and beyond.

Raphinha heading for Spain move

Leeds winger Raphinha is being tipped to leave Elland Road this summer and secure a move to Spain.

The Brazilian has elevated his status to new levels after starring for Brazil in recent months. As such, it is no surprise to see Leeds looking to reward their star man with a bumper new deal.

Raphinha has been strongly linked with moves to Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

However, his countryman Kleberson, speaking to Paddy Power, claims a move to La Liga looks most likely.

He reckons a series of big offers will come in for Leeds’ No 10, which will make it near impossible for them to keep him.

However, Kleberson doubts Raphinha will stay in the Premier League and can see him pushing for a move to Spain.

As such, the former Manchester United man believes a move to one of Barcelona or Real Madrid is a strong possibility.

Fresh reports, meanwhile, claim Raphinha has twice rejected efforts from Leeds to extend his contract.

Newcastle chasing deal for Eberechi Eze

Newcastle are reportedly planning a huge £45m approach to sign Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze this summer.

As per the Daily Mirror, Newcastle saw efforts to sign the England U21 international fail in January. They had offered Palace a £5m loan fee with a view to a permanent £35m summer move.

But in an effort to twist their arm, the paper now claims the cash-rich Magpies will up their offer to £45m.

And they reckon the Eagles may well be tempted to more than double their £17m investment from QPR in 2020.

The 23-year-old scored four times in 34 Premier League appearances last season before an Achilles injury ended his season early.

That has restricted him to just one Premier League start so far this season. And the Mirror reckons Patrick Vieira may well be tempted by Newcastle’s offer.
