Bacary Sagna names one Man City position to be improved after Erling Haaland signing

Former Manchester City player Bacary Sagna thinks Pep Guardiola’s squad is pretty much ‘complete’, although one position could do with being strengthened.

Manchester City are on course to win their fourth Premier League title in five years after drawing 2-2 with West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday. While Guardiola will have seen it as points dropped, the result puts the Cityzens four points ahead of title rivals Liverpool.

The Reds have a game in hand – a trip to Southampton on Tuesday – and must win to stay in the mix.

But victory for Manchester City in the final match against Aston Villa will ensure they take home another domestic honour.

The main target for Guardiola and City this season was to end their hoodoo in the Champions League. A late comeback from Real Madrid in the semi-final means they will have to wait another year.

The signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund could be the final piece of the puzzle. However, that has been said before when previous big names have arrived.

During a recent interview, Sagna called the City squad ‘complete’. Despite this, he wants the club to bring in a new left-back – and one star is in his mind.

“They don’t have to target anywhere; they are complete in every position,” Sagna said (via The Sun).

Bacary Sagna talks Man City improvements

“Maybe left-back if I had to cover one position. But still, they have been doing well.

“I like Theo Hernandez; he’s playing really well and has potential. He has a bright future.”

Guardiola can currently utilise Joao Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko on the left side of defence.

Cancelo has been deadly when operating there, as he likes to get forward and help out the attackers. Due to this, the Portuguese has registered three goals and 10 assists this term.

However, Cancelo is currently deputising at right-back amid Kyle Walker’s ankle injury.

This means Zinchenko has come in, and the Ukrainian has done a decent job as always.

But City could probably do with another top-class left-back to compete with Cancelo, which may set up a summer pursuit.

Hernandez would be a great signing for the Manchester outfit. However, it may be tough to snare him from AC Milan as they are in pole position to win the Serie A title.

Meanwhile, a report has revealed who is winning the race for City and Liverpool target Jobe Bellingham.
