EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal, Tottenham in busy race for attacking talent Guardiola wants
A host of Premier League clubs are following Israeli star Manor Solomon, TEAMtalk understands.
The 22-year-old is currently with Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk, who he joined from Maccabi Petah Tikva 2019.
Shakhtar beat a host of clubs to land him at the time including Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola a confirmed fan. Indeed, City only lost out to him as the Tikva bosses only upped their asking price when learning of their interest.
City remain interested and have been keeping track of his progress in Ukraine, which has been good.
Arsenal and Aston Villa were also keen in the summer and they remain interested in him. But we understand that interest is increasing with the belief that he could be available in January.
Solomon, who can play anywhere across the frontline, has admitted he would like to play in England if the interest is there.
“My dream is to play in England and it also seems to me the most realistic option for me. And teams in England can pay,” Solomon said in February.
We understand Tottenham, Everton, Brighton and Southampton are also now keeping a close check on him.
Manchester City eyeing up move for Toni Kroos
Manchester City are reportedly eyeing up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, with more news on Donny van de Beek and Ferran Torres.
Solomon has two goals from his first 10 league appearances this season. Across his entire Shakhtar career, he has provided 20 goals from 96 games.
At international level he has four goals from 22 caps for Israel.
Man City, Arsenal in another attacker battle
Meanwhile, several reports have linked Man City to a Brazilian attacker who has been a long-term target for Arsenal.
City did not sign a replacement for Sergio Aguero after his summer release. Guardiola has often favoured a formation with a false nine since.
But adding a centre-forward could make them an even more formidable force.
With that in mind, they continue to be linked with potential signings in that position – and another transfer opportunity could see them go head to head with Arsenal again…
