Jack Grealish next move: Report reveals which Prem club star wants to join when leaving Man City

Jack Grealish

A report claims Jack Grealish is considering a switch to Arsenal, should his Manchester City exit go through.

90Min claimed on Tuesday that the winger is unhappy at City. He has apparently told those close to him that he won’t be at the Etihad by the end of next summer. Plus, Grealish has supposedly told his agent to find him a new club.

Grealish left boyhood club Aston Villa to join Pep Guardiola’s side in a £100million transfer last summer. It broke the British transfer record and saw the star become the sixth most expensive player of all time.

The England international has since won his first major trophy with Manchester City, as he lifted the Premier League title last season. This was one of the main reasons for him making the switch from Villa.

However, Grealish’s City spell has not been overly smooth so far. He has had to deal with plenty of criticism as he gets used to Guardiola’s demands and style of play.

In addition, the expectations are higher at City than they were at Villa. If Grealish makes a mistake in a City shirt, then it is more likely to be picked up and deeply analysed.

90Min suggested the 27-year-old wants out of City, although they didn’t reveal which club he may want to join. That has now come to light, though.

According to Just Arsenal, who cite reports coming out of Spain, Arsenal could end up moving for Grealish if he does get his exit wish at City.

Jack Grealish ‘wants Arsenal move’

And the original report claims Arsenal would be at the top of the player’s list of teams to join when starting a new chapter in his career.

There is no mention of why he would like to link up with Mikel Arteta’s side or whether the manager reciprocates Grealish’s feeling. Perhaps Grealish thinks Arsenal are on the right path under Arteta and wants some of the action.

The wide man wouldn’t be the first player to swap City for Arsenal. In the summer transfer window, Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus moved from the Etihad to the Emirates.

He cost £45m and has gone on to register four goals in seven league games for the Gunners. Oleksandr Zinchenko also left City for Arsenal, with the Ukrainian costing an initial £30m. He has featured five times in all competitions so far.

The Grealish to Arsenal rumours come amid his feud with pundit Graeme Souness. Earlier on Thursday, Grealish said he ‘didn’t know what his [Souness’] problem is with me’.

Souness responded by saying on talkSPORT: “I’d love a night out with him. I am not sure I could stay with him but I think I would enjoy a night out with him.

“He has to pick and choose who he listens to, he might think my opinion is not worth listening to, I can live with that. He only has to listen to his own manager. That’s the only one he has to impress.”

Meanwhile, City attacker Riyad Mahrez has revealed what his plans for the future are, and whether he wants to retire with the Citizens.
