Sergio Aguero sends words of warning over immediate Erling Haaland success at Man City

Manchester City goalscoring legend Sergio Aguero has sent a word of warning to those expecting summer signing Erling Haaland to start firing straight away.
The Norway international is gearing up for his first season of Premier League football after City beat the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona to his signature.
The reigning Premier League champions forked out the striker’s £51.2million release clause after he scored an incredible 61 goals in 66 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund.
Pep Guardiola opted not to play an out-and-out No.9 for much of last season after Aguero moved to Barcelona.
However, that did not stop City claiming another title success, as they beat Liverpool by a point.
But despite Haaland‘s incredible scoring record since bursting onto the scene, Aguero has offered words of caution over his debut Premier League campaign.
The Argentine believes the 21-year-old will need time to adapt to English football and Guardiola’s style.
Aguero had his own struggles at City
He told Stake (via Goal): “Haaland will take time to adjust to England and Pep’s demands just like I did.
“Haaland’s is a very important signing. I think his goalscoring ability is proven. His stats through the German league and in Europe confirms this.
“Logically, he will have a period of adaptation to a league as strong as the Premier League. But I think he will go through his own process and the results will be seen soon.
“I think that an elite player like him will know how to reconcile his style with that of Pep’s teams. It may take a while, as it did in the beginning for me. But once he gets into gear everything will be simpler.
“I think he has the talent to fulfil what is asked of him, which are goals.”
Haaland’s Premier League debut will likely be away at West Ham on August 7.
Pep will find a way with Haaland
Despite his previous claim that Manchester City do not need to play with a traditional centre-forward, Pep Guardiola is surely working hard on how Haaland will be utilised in his attacking system.
The Norweigan hotshot is way too good to be treated how Gabriel Jesus was last season. The Brazilian, now at Arsenal, was constantly in and out of the team.
And with Raheem Sterling now departed, City will need to find his goals and assists from elsewhere.
The good thing about Haaland is that while most of his headlines come from his goals, he also had 18 league assists in his time in Germany.
That proves that he can be a link player in City’s possession-based game.
Haaland also has all the physical attributes to cope with English football. And once that first goal is notched up expect many more to follow as he takes the Premier League by storm.
