Sources: Man City seal first summer signing as bargain deal is done to sign Brentford keeper target

Manchester City have won the race to sign AFC Wimbledon teenage sensation Spike Brits, TEAMtalk understands.
England Under-16 international Brits is regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in the country. Indeed, he has caught the eye for AFC Wimbledon at various youth levels, while also impressing on the international stage.
The 15-year-old has trained with the AFC Wimbledon first-team this season after starring for the club’s Under-18s side this term.
As a result, a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Tottenham, Brentford and Brighton have kept a close watch on his development.
Of those clubs, it was City and Brentford who have shown the strongest interest in signing the youngster.
However, we understand that Pep Guardiola’s side have stolen a march on their rivals by agreeing a deal.
Premier League leaders City will pay just a £200,000 compensation package with League Two Wimbledon for Brits. He will make the move to the Etihad Stadium over the summer and will immediately hook up with City’s academy coaches.
Wimbledon were reluctant to lose Brits, but accepted they could not stand in the way of the teenager to further his career.
City see Brits as a huge talent and someone they believe they can develop into a major star in the future as the club continue their policy of signing some of the best young players in the country.
And, if he continues to develop as well as he has, City could find themselves with a natural heir to Ederson over time.
The 29-year-old has been with City since summer 2017, having arrived from Benfica. The Brazilian is now closing in on 300 appearances for the club.
