Man City transfer news: ‘Agreement reached’ for colossal Guardiola signing after £77m offer lodged

Josko Gvardiol in action for RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol is reportedly ‘on the verge of leaving’ the club and has already ‘reached an agreement’ with Manchester City.
The Bundesliga outfit are seemingly in the midst of a summer sale, with Christopher Nkunku and Konrad Laimer already departing for Chelsea and Bayern Munich respectively.
Dominik Szoboszlai is also closing in on a big-money money move to Liverpool after the Reds agreed to pay £60million for the Hungary international.
However, it looks like a quartet of high-profile exits is now inevitable as City close in on a deal for the highly-rated Gvardiol.
A report from BILD states that the Croatia international centre-back is expected to be the next major departure from the German club after Szoboszlai headed to Merseyside for his medical.
Gvardiol was widely regarded as the best centre-back at the World Cup in Qatar, having already taken his game to a different level with Leipzig in previous seasons.
And with Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa target Aymeric Laporte on the verge of an exit, Pep Guardiola wants another central defender on board.
The report adds that Leipzig are ‘willing to discuss’ a transfer for the player, if they can receive at least €100m (£94m).
City are so far said to have offered £77m for Gvardiol but are willing to up that offer to land a player Guardiola rates very highly.
The player himself is already said to have agreed personal terms over a move to The Etihad, so it just remains for the two clubs to come to full agreement over the fee.
