Young Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho will reportedly receive the offer of a new contract after helping the club to win the FA Youth Cup.

Garnacho is enjoying a top campaign with Manchester United’s U18 side. His record stands at 15 goals and six assists from 34 matches so far.

This form has seen the 17-year-old become a member of Argentina’s U20 team. He made his debut in a 2-2 draw with USA U20s in March.

Garnacho, who usually operates as a left winger, was born in Madrid but holds Argentinian citizenship through his mother.

He bagged two goals for Manchester United U18s on Wednesday night to help them beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 in front of 60,000 fans at Old Trafford.

The victory saw the Red Devils gain their 11th FA Youth Cup. Their previous title came in 2011.

Garnacho made a big impression on the home crowd and it seems senior United chiefs were watching as well.

According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League giants will offer Garnacho a new contract in the near future.

New Alejandro Garnacho deal on the horizon

Should the exciting teenager accept, then he will receive a significant wage increase.

The contract offer is a reward for Garnacho’s breakthrough campaign. He recently followed in the footsteps of Marcus Rashford and Paul Scholes by picking up the Jimmy Murphy award, which is given to the young player of the season at United.

Garnacho has made just one senior appearance for United, and that only lasted for a minute.

However, he recently began training with the first team in the aftermath of their dire 4-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick gave Garnacho the opportunity to work alongside fellow forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, among others.

Erik ten Hag could follow suit in pre-season and during the next campaign if Garnacho’s rapid rise continues.

The wide man will be hoping for more first-team chances so he can begin to make an impact at the Theatre of Dreams.

Offering Garnacho fresh terms is a wise decision from United chiefs. His current deal expires in 2023 and clubs will be certainly be keeping tabs on his situation.

Promoting him to the senior squad may also help Ten Hag as he looks to build a new philosophy at the club.

United fans have had to deal with players not working hard enough for several seasons. By bringing hungry young players like Garnacho into the fold, Ten Hag could change the opinion towards the team.

Meanwhile, fellow United starlet Amad Diallo may spend another campaign out on loan after a manager’s recent verdict on him.
