Juventus boss Max Allegri is confident a Juventus player will reject Premier League teams Manchester United and Newcastle United in order to remain in Italy.

Several Juve players have been linked with moves to England in recent months due to the huge financial disparity between Serie A and the Prem. Dusan Vlahovic, Federico Chiesa and Adrien Rabiot have all been named as players who could be tempted to move to England due to the big wages on offer.

Vlahovic is being looked at by Man Utd and Chelsea as they hunt new centre-forwards to lead their respective forward lines.

Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal have been tipped to do battle over the signature of Italy winger Chiesa this summer. That is despite him missing much of the season through injury and not yet getting back to his best.

Central midfielder Rabiot, meanwhile, is wanted by Man Utd and Newcastle. Erik ten Hag pushed Man Utd to sign Rabiot last summer after finding out Frenkie de Jong did not want to swap Barcelona for Manchester.

Rabiot’s transfer to Old Trafford fell through, just like De Jong’s, as he could not agree on a contract with the Red Devils.

But the Frenchman is once again in Man Utd’s sights as he is heading towards free agency. His Juve contract expires at the end of June and this means he could become part of Ten Hag’s squad through a free transfer.

On March 7, a report from Football Insider explained how Man Utd are considering sending Rabiot a ‘huge’ contract proposal. They believe they can reach an agreement with him and his camp after failing to do so in 2022.

Max Allegri defiant about potential player exit

However, Allegri is under the impression the 27-year-old will be staying put by penning a new contract at Juve.

During a recent interview (via Goal’s live transfer blog, 18/03 at 20:56), Allegri said: “He [Rabiot] is a good player, he’s matured and grown a lot. On his renewal there are still two months left, I have faith in him.”

Allegri has put pressure on Rabiot by revealing how he expects a new contract to reach completion. But the former Paris Saint-Germain star is certainly facing a big decision on his future.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed how Rabiot’s biggest dream is to play in the Prem. This is the best opportunity for him to achieve that dream as he does not have to wait for Juve to accept a bid for him. Instead, he can simply choose which Prem offer is best between Man Utd and Newcastle and then go there.

While Allegri is hopeful of Rabiot remaining in Turin, he could yet end up being proved wrong by his own player.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag has explained how he helped a Man Utd pair form a deadly partnership.
