Edinson Cavani next destination revealed as trusted source confirms Man Utd summer exit

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the desire of Edinson Cavani to leave Manchester United this summer, with the transfer guru also revealing his most likely next destination.
Cavani joined the Red Devils on a free transfer in October 2020, after running down his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. The veteran striker went on to net 17 goals in 39 matches during his debut season at Old Trafford.
Six of those strikes came in the Europa League, helping United to reach the final of the competition. However, they lost to Villarreal in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
Cavani missed several matches due to injury that season, and that trend has continued in 2021-22.
His most recent problem was a groin strain, which kept him out for five Premier League matches.
To make matters worse for the Uruguay international, he now faces competition from Cristiano Ronaldo for a starting berth.
And the former Real Madrid ace recently hit a hat-trick against Spurs to give United a vital win – showing just how reliant they are on him.
Edinson Cavani seeking transfer
With these factors in mind, Cavani is highly likely to move on this summer. And Romano provides an update on the state of play.
He claims Cavani’s plan to leave Manchester will soon be confirmed by the star himself and the club.
The 35-year-old will be available on a free transfer as his contract expires on June 30.

Cavani wants a ‘new experience’ and he is pushing to play in La Liga for the first time. Spain is his ‘priority’, meaning he could sign for Barcelona or Atletico later this year.
Teams from South America have also made approaches to Cavani and his entourage. However, his most likely next destination is La Liga, given his transfer preference.
Romano goes on to claim Argentine giants River Plate have no chance of capturing Cavani.
Man Utd learn price for star defender
Meanwhile, Torino are reportedly ready to sell United and Tottenham centre-back target Gleison Bremer for €25million this summer.
Bremer has been a key performer for Torino since signing from Atletico Mineiro in 2018, playing more than 100 times for the club.
But Pianeta Milan (via Sport Witness) claim the Italian outfit are now ready to cash in on the player, with offers around €25m (£20m) set to do the trick.
United and Spurs will face strong competition for Bremer’s signature, though. AC Milan and Inter are both keen, along with Bayern Munich.
The report states Torino are hoping an auction will ensue – if enough suitors come forward with concrete offers.
