Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd battle West Ham as Napoli forward becomes top Ten Hag objective; Everton hunt left-field attacking option

Manchester United are preparing to rival West Ham for the capture of a Serie A winger, Everton have set their sights on a surprise player to improve Frank Lampard’s attack, while Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims a Liverpool target has rejected a contract offer from his current club.

MAN UTD THE LATEST SIDE IN FOR NAPOLI MAN

West Ham are no longer the only Premier League club interested in Napoli forward Hirving Lozano, as Manchester United reportedly want to land him too.

PSV made a big profit when selling Lozano to Napoli in August 2019. After buying him for £11.3million, they sold him to the Italian outfit for £40.5m.

Lozano, who can play as a winger on either flank or down the middle as a second striker, has managed 26 goals and 14 assists in 115 games for Napoli.

He feels he can improve on this record after having to operate out of position so Lorenzo Insigne could play regularly.

According to reports in July, West Ham held ‘concrete talks’ with Napoli over signing Lozano, who has won 56 caps for Mexico.

But David Moyes will face competition from his former club Manchester United in the transfer pursuit.

That’s because Gianluca Di Marzio (via Football Italia) claims the Red Devils have begun targeting Lozano and will now rival West Ham for his services.

The 27-year-old attacker has two years left on his contract at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

The Mexico International is said to have been made available by Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti.

Napoli are unlikely to offer him an extension. And they are gradually warming to the fact he could leave, either this summer or next.

Lozano has a huge release clause in his current deal. It is worth €130m, which works out at around £110m.

However, Napoli know they cannot ask for anywhere near this amount. As such, Lozano can move to either Man Utd or West Ham for far less.

Erik ten Hag is keen for his club to bring in a new wide man. As such, they have attempted to sign Antony from Ajax for most of the summer.

But the reigning Eredivisie champions are holding out for a big fee, thought to be in the region of £70m.

Man Utd are seemingly going round in circles over whether to match this valuation or not. Cody Gakpo is viewed as a cheaper alternative, while Lozano could cost less than him.

Lozano is Ten Hag’s new objective, should moves for Antony and Gakpo fall through. And it wouldn’t be a surprise if this did occur after what happened to their pursuits of Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot.
