Euro Paper Talk: Jorge Mendes vows to force Cristiano Ronaldo exit from Man Utd, with next club locked in

Jorge Mendes is determined to secure Cristiano Ronaldo an exit from Manchester United and is targeting one destination, while Arsenal have been given the chance to sign a £36million attacker from Spain – both in Friday’s Euro Paper Talk.
MENDES WORKING ON CRISTIANO RONALDO TRANSFER
Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-term agent Jorge Mendes wants the 37-year-old striker to leave Old Trafford this summer and is hard at work on a move back to LaLiga, according to reports.
Ronaldo’s desire to play for top trophies and individual honours in the final part of his career has been well documented in recent weeks.
He doesn’t think this can be achieved at Manchester United as the Red Devils are preparing for their first campaign under Erik ten Hag, which will likely involve plenty of changes.
Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have all ruled themselves out of the running for Ronaldo. While he is still able to score goals at the highest level, the trio of clubs do not believe he would fit into their wage structure or plans for the future.
Despite the recent setbacks, Ronaldo still has options when it comes to a summer exit from United.
LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid have been linked with a shock move for the Portugal international. Such a move would shock fans in Spain, given Ronaldo’s close ties and hugely successful history with their rivals Real.
According to a recent report from Spanish outlet Marca, Diego Simeone’s side view a bid for Ronaldo as being ‘unfeasible’. This is because of his colossal wage demands and the fact Atletico would have to pay a transfer fee for him when he is past his prime.
But radio station El Lageuro (via Sports Illustrated) believe the deal can still go through, and that is mainly down to Ronaldo’s representative Mendes.

Jorge Mendes optimistic about Ronaldo to Atletico Madrid
Jorge Mendes is optimistic about Cristiano Ronaldo sealing a move to Atletico Madrid this summer.
El Laguero state Mendes is ‘very optimistic’ about Ronaldo joining up with Simeone’s side. As the issue is simply economic, the agent believes it can be ‘fixed’ with necessary negotiations.
Mendes thinks Atletico will allow a few players to leave in the next month or so. This will free up space on the wage bill for Ronaldo to join.
Ronaldo’s entourage will continue working on a switch to Atleti until club chiefs in Madrid make a public statement calling it impossible.
Ronaldo’s exit from United looked dead in the water earlier this week when Real became the latest club to reject him. However, Mendes is known as one of the best in the business and he is still being backed to secure a transfer for the serial winner.
