Manchester United have agreed a deal for Julian Alvarez and want Mauro Icardi next, with two set to depart, Liverpool are considering a surprise move for a former star, while Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Chelsea are ready to pay a huge salary to land a world-class star.

ALVAREZ, MAURO ICARDI PLANS FOR MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has reportedly told agent Fernando Hidalgo he wants to sign Julian Alvarez – but must first sort out Anthony Martial’s future.

Argentine starlet Alvarez appears destined to leave River Plate soon. European clubs are queuing up for his services, most notably United and Tottenham.

A recent report claims the Reds are willing to pay Alvarez’s release clause this month, reportedly set at €20million (£16.7m).

Now, according to il Gazzetta dello Sport, Rangnick has confirmed his intentions to sign Alvarez following a chat with his agent on Monday night.

They claim Rangnick has informed agent Fernando Hidalgo in the ‘secret meeting’ that he “likes Alavrez a lot”. Furthermore, he’s been told that United have the financial means to sign the player before the month is out.

However, they claim United must first finalise the departure of Anthony Martial, with talks over a move to Sevilla ongoing.

But once his signing is secured, Rangnick is expected to then make Alvarez the first signing of his reign.

United also in for Mauro Icardi

It seems United and Rangick will not stop there, either.

Indeed, as per L’Equipe, Rangnick is also making plans to secure the signing of Mauro Icardi from PSG.

Icardi available, multiple teams interested

Icardi available, multiple teams interested

Icardi wants consistent playing time, and there are interested several teams who can give him that.

The paper claims he’s likely to depart PSG this summer and that United see him as a suitable replacement for Edinson Cavani.

The veteran Uruguayan’s deal expires this summer, leaving him free to depart Old Trafford as a free agent.

PSG hope to use finances raised by Icardi’s sale to bring in Belgian pearl Charles De Ketelaere, recently mentioned as a Leicester target.
