Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd, Chelsea, Tottenham in three-way battle to sign Inter defensive colossus; Juventus open to Arsenal swap

Premier League trio Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are all in a battle to sign Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar, while Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims that Juventus are willing to offer two stars in a swap deal for Arsenal defender Gabriel.

THREE-WAY SKRINIAR FIGHT EMERGES

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all looking to sign towering Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar this summer.

The Slovakia international has long been linked with Spurs. However, United and Chelsea are now firmly in the running, prompting Inter to offer the 27-year-old a new deal.

Despite their financial issues, Inter are keen on keeping Skriniar – as reported in Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri are willing to offer the powerful defender a new five-year contract. Skriniar would also see his salary increase every year, with the starting point at €4.5million-per-season.

Skriniar has been a key performer for Simone Inzaghi’s side this term. He has made 34 starts and could be part of another Serie A title-winning team, although Inter need city rivals Milan to slip up at Sassuolo for that to happen.

Premier League trio all need new centre-back recruit

United, Chelsea and Spurs are all well known to be in the market for at least one new centre-back this summer.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are all interested in prying Milan Skriniar away from Inter.

The Red Devils have had issues at the heart of their defence, with skipper Harry Maguire struggling to live up to his price tag.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will see Antonio Rudiger walk away this summer, while Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are also expected to move.

As for Tottenham, Antonio Conte knows Skriniar very well having coached Inter to the title last season.

The defender would also fit in seamlessly on the left-hand side of Conte’s preferred back-three system.

While that would be incredibly harsh on Ben Davies, Skriniar is a powerhouse in both boxes and would allow the Wales star to provide cover across the whole back line.
