Euro Paper Talk: Pochettino urges Man Utd to strike incredible summer deal

Mauricio Pochettino will urge Manchester United to complete a deal for Harry Kane if he takes over as permanent boss this summer, while Tottenham are on alert over a Juventus star’s contract impasse – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.

POCH GIVES MAN UTD STRIKER NOD

Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly push Manchester United to try and sign Harry Kane if he becomes their manager at the end of the season.

The Argentine has emerged as the favourite to become the next permanent boss at Old Trafford, especially among the players. However, interim chief Ralf Rangnick is said to favour a move for Ajax’s Erik Ten Hag.

It’s believed that former Spurs boss Pochettino is interested in the role and is expected to quit PSG in the summer.

The 51-year-old has already been assessing United’s squad and wants to reunite with Kane in Manchester.

Senior Old Trafford figures have previously discussed trying to land the England skipper, only to be priced out of a potential deal.

However, according to the Daily Telegraph, Pochettino will insist on the 28-year-old being United’s new No.9 if he does complete his own switch to the Red Devils.

United are expected to lose veteran forward Edinson Cavani in the summer. There are also doubts over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club, with reports emerging that he is becoming increasingly frustrated by United’s form.

While Kane is unlikely to command the £100m-plus fee that priced Manchester City out of a move, Daniel Levy is still expected to strike a hard bargain if the player decides he wants to move on again this summer.
