Euro Paper Talk: Ten Hag eyes 13 in 17 striker for low-cost fee as Klopp ruins Man Utd plans for top target; Tottenham offered Arsenal old boy

Marcus Thuram of Monchengladbach warms up before the UEFA Champions League, Group B football match between Real Madrid and Borussia Monchengladbach on december 9, 2020 at Ciudad Deportiva Real Madrid in Valdebebas, Madrid

Eric ten Hag is planning to bring a Bundesliga striker to Man Utd with Liverpool rivalling them for their top summer target, Tottenham are considering a controversial move for an Arsenal old boy, while Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk reveals a big-name midfielder is now keen on a move to Arsenal.

Manchester United are reportedly plotting a bargain deal for Marcus Thuram in January as a quick-fire replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese veteran parted company with the Red Devils by mutual consent on Tuesday. That came just over a week after waging war on the club in an explosive interview.

Ronaldo is now free to find himself a new club, with the 37-year-old being granted free agent status.

United, though, are seeking a replacement in attack and are now reportedly in the mix to sign Thuram.

The four-times capped France striker is to become a free agent himself next summer at Borussia Monchengladbach.

And the 25-year-old finds himself a man in demand having scored 13 times in 17 appearances so far this season.

Indeed, the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Juventus and Liverpool are all reportedly keen. Indeed, per a report last week, Daniel Levy was ready to make a mouthwatering offer to tempt Thuram to Tottenham.

However, as per Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Ten Hag is also set to turn his attention towards Thuram.

And per reports, he can leave Gladbach for as little as £8.7m (€10m) in the January window, a fee which United are willing to spend.

Marcus Thuram the focus as Liverpool join Victor Osimhen race

United are seemingly turning to Thuram with competition growing for their No 1 target Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria striker is reportedly Ten Hag’s dream addition in attack after a terrific spell in Italy with Napoli.

He has 38 goals in 76 appearances since his move to Gli Azzurri from Lille.

However, any deal for the 23-year-old will not come cheap. That said, the runaway Serie A leaders will not stand in his way if an offer in the region of £87m (€100m) arrives in the summer window.

United’s desire to sign him though looks set to be rivalled, though, by a familar foe.

And according to il Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are now positioning themselves at the front of the queue for Osimhen.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is a long-time admirer of Osimhen and sees him as the perfect addition for their attack. Liverpool may lose Roberto Firmino as a free agent next summer, opening up space for Osimhen.
