Euro Paper Talk: Ten Hag to completely revamp Man Utd midfield with sensational double signing; Tottenham favourite drops big hint over LaLiga move

Erik ten Hag Man Utd manager

Erik ten Hag is looking to completely revamp his midfield with the addition of two world-class talents in 2023, while Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims a Tottenham star could be close to swapping London for Seville.

UNITED DOUBLE MIDFIELD DEAL ON THE CARDS

Manchester United are looking to completely revamp their midfield with two new signings in 2023, as reported by ESPN.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag brought in Christian Eriksen and Casemiro over the summer. However, while the Dane has excelled, Casemiro is yet to make a Premier League start – despite costing an initial £60million.

To be fair, Eriksen has formed a strong partnership with Scott McTominay during United’s four-match winning run.

However, both Eriksen and Casemiro are both 30 and not the long-term answer for Ten Hag.

To that end, ESPN reports the Red Devils are still confident of sealing a deal for long-term target Frenkie de Jong.

Ten Hag is said to be adamant he can convince his fellow countryman to sign from Barcelona next summer.

Ten Hag faces Bellingham fight

Meanwhile, ESPN also claims that Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is central to Ten Hag’s plans going forward.

The England youngster is been on Liverpool’s radar ever since he moved to Germany from Birmingham. However, it appears that United will look to steal a march on their Premier League rivals.

Partnering 18-year-old Bellingham with De Jong, 25, would give the Red Devils their midfield for the next five or six years.

However, there is the small matter of the asking price for both players. Indeed, Dortmund want in excess of £100m for Bellingham, while United agreed a £63m fee with De Jong over the summer and that figure is unlikely to drop by much.

De Jong is also still owed wages by Barca, which makes completing a deal doubly difficult. There is the hope, though, by next summer that the Catalan giants might have eased their current financial struggles.
