Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd clear to sign Dortmund attacker with Ten Hag to land second striker in days; Liverpool man included in £35.5m swoop for Arsenal defender

Man Utd manager target Erik ten Hag

Manchester United are pushing for the signing of a Dortmund attacker this summer, but will also sign another striker on loan this week, Arsenal will be offered a Liverpool man as part of a swoop for a defender, while Monday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Leeds are on the brink of a £17.7m signing.

DEAL FOR YOUSSOUFA MOUKOKO ON FOR MAN UTD THIS SUMMER

Erik ten Hag is reportedly closing on a deal to bring Youssoufa Moukoko to Manchester United this summer.

The Borussia Dortmund striker becomes a free agent at the end of the season and talks over an extension are to see an agreement reached.

As a result, the 11-goal striker finds himself a player in huge demand. Indeed, the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona are reportedly tracking his situation closely.

However, it seems it is Manchester United who are emerging as favourites for his signature. As per CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, United boss Ten Hag has been on his trail for “some time”.

And the chance to land the talented frontman on a free adds to his appeal.

Moukoko was a surprise inclusion in the Germany squad at the World Cup, with the 18-year-old winning two caps to date.

He has, though, gone to strong lengths in recent days to play down claims he could be lured away.

However, it’s reported that a move to Old Trafford this summer is on the cards. He will add to United’s striker options, with the player’s ability to play across the frontline, as well as through the middle, an additional appeal to Ten Hag.

MAN UTD TO MOVE FOR ONE OF TWO LOAN STRIKERS IN MEAN TIME

In the meantime, Ten Hag is still hunting for a new attacker to see United through until the end of the season.

And it is likely the Red Devils will sign a player on a temporary basis to cover for the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo.

And reports claim the club are considering one of two options to come in on an ‘Odion Ighalo’ type loan for the rest of the season.

Option one – and the more glamorous signing – surrounds Joao Felix.

The Portuguese star is likely to be available for transfer this month, with his agent Jorge Mendes holding talks with a string of suitors. United are among those, though the cost of the deal, currently looks too high.

Indeed, as per reports, Atletico are seeking a £18.6m package for their £113m record signing. That includes his loan fee of £13.3m (€15m) as well as coverage of his wages worth £5.3m (€6m) gross.

Alternatively, Sport claims Atletico Madrid are now considering the permanent sale of the 23-year-old. However, any suitors must be willing to stump up a fee of £88.7m (€100m).

Should United opt against a move for Felix – or be beaten to the punch – it’s reported they are also looking at Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar.

The 30-year-old is likely to be made available for transfer by his club Al-Nassr following their capture of Cristiano Ronaldo. Aboubakar will likely lose his place in the side with the Saudi side now willing to listen to loan approaches. And that will seemingly open the door for Ten Hag and United to land the Brazil-slayer on a temporary basis.

United will reportedly choose between the pair this week and will make a move before the week is out.
