Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd, Tottenham collide as star duo could leave Ten Hag or Conte stranded; Neymar to Newcastle

Manchester United and Tottenham are set to collide over two centre-back targets, while Newcastle are linked with Neymar – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.
MAN UTD, TOTTENHAM IN CENTRE-BACK BATTLE
Manchester United and Tottenham are looking at centre-back duo Alessandro Bastoni and Pau Torres to bolster their back lines, according to a report.
Both Premier League clubs have made defensive signings a priority for this summer’s transfer window. Eric Bailly and Phil Jones could both leave Old Trafford, with new United boss Erik ten Hag looking for reinforcements.
His Tottenham counterpart Antonio Conte is delighted that Cristian Romero is signing a long-term deal. However, Conte wants to strengthen even more after guiding Spurs back into the Champions League.
Recent reports have talked of Tottenham interest in Inter defender Bastoni. The Italian was a key part of Conte’s Inter team that won Serie A last season.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, though, Man Utd are now considering a move for the 23-year-old.
Ten Hag is a big fan of Bastoni and has not looked at his €60million price tag with any disdain.
Previous reports have outlined how Ten Hag is also looking at Villarreal’s Spain international Torres. The Dutchman believes the Champions League semi-finalist would be ‘perfect’ due to his confidence in playing the ball.

Spurs dealt blow in Alessandro Bastoni chase
Spurs have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Inter's Alessandro Bastoni as Man City link is revealed.
Now, though, El Periodico Mediterraneo claims that Conte has now latched onto a potential deal for Torres. The 25-year-old is reportedly also worth €60million, as per his release clause.
As a result, United and Tottenham could yet share the signings – or either team could sign both and leave the other high and dry and looking elsewhere.
Man Utd have also had links with Ajax’s Jurrien Timber, with Tottenham reportedly interested in Torino’s Gleison Bremer.
