Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd must act fast as PSG look to hijack deal for £113m striker; Newcastle offer £22m for Brazilian wonderkid

Manchester United have been put on alert over their chase for a LaLiga striker after PSG joined the race for his signature, while Newcastle have offered £22million in their efforts to sign a Brazilian wonderkid – all in Friday’s Euro transfer gossip.

PSG LOOKING TO SNATCH UNITED TARGET

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Joao Felix in the winter transfer window.

The 23-year-old Atletico Madrid forward is currently out of favour with the Spanish giants, having joined from Benfica for £113million back in 2019.

Felix remains under contract until June 2026, but Atletico are willing to let the player leave. That’s assuming they get the right offer.

United have been strongly linked with the striker as they look for a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

And, although a report this week from Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed that the Red Devils are not showing an interestLe Parisien suggests otherwise.

The French outlet reports that PSG sporting director Luis Campos wants to give a helping hand to Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe by adding Felix to the attacking mix.

French giants want initial loan deal

While that may appear a little rich, given their abundance of attacking options already, Le Parisien states that PSG are ready to take the player on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

From United’s point of view, Felix would fit in well with Erik ten Hag’s system of play. But that is something he has struggled with under Diego Simeone at Atletico.

However, the report does not state whether United are also considering a loan to buy or a straight sale option.

One thing is for sure, Felix is certain to attract plenty of interest this coming January.
