Euro Paper Talk: Man Utd tempting Napoli with swap deal for powerhouse striker Victor Osimhen
Manchester United are trying to tempt Napoli into a swap deal for striker Victor Osimhen by offering a player in return, while Arsenal have joined Barcelona in the hunt for an Atletico Madrid attacker – both in Friday’s Euro Paper Talk.
UNITED OFFER STAR IN OSIMHEN SWAP
Manchester United are ready to offer a player in return after seeing their initial bid for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen rebuffed.
The Nigerian international moved to Naples from Lille in 2020 and has gone from strength to strength to Italy.
Indeed, the 23-year-old has scored 16 goals and added seven assists this season at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
A number of Premier League clubs, including United, Arsenal and Newcastle have shown an interest. But Area Napoli claims that the Red Devils are the ones who have firmed up that interest.
They report that while an offer was made it was ‘considered too low’ by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
But United are not done yet and are ready to put Anthony Martial’s ‘card on the plate’ in a potential swap deal.
The report adds that Martial is valued at £25.5million (€30m) in the current market and will be moved on. Indeed, the Frenchman has yet to score a LaLiga goal doing his loan stint with Sevilla.
However, there is one big problem on the horizon – Napoli are not keen on the player.
Manchester United offer Martial to Napoli for Osimhen
Napoli rejected Manchester United's first offer for Victor Osimhen, now the Red Devils are looking to offer Anthony Martial in a swap deal.
That comes as no great surprise, given Martial’s struggles this season. That will leave United either having to offer another player or turn their attentions elsewhere.
As for Osimhen himself, he recently spoke about where he sees his immediate future.
