Fabrizio Romano reveals Ten Hag measures to prevent devastating Man Utd exit amid worrying rumours

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has discussed the future of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford amid one of Europe’s biggest teams pursuing his services.
Rashford struggled to make an impact under interim boss Ralf Rangnick last season. He played 32 times in all competitions but could only muster five goals.
The left winger has transformed himself under new boss Erik ten Hag this term though, bagging 27 goals in 44 appearances. It is already the best season in front of goal of Rashford’s career.
Rashford’s incredible form has helped Man Utd win the Carabao Cup, reach the Europa League quarter-finals and make it into the FA Cup semis. The Red Devils should also be able to qualify for next season’s Champions League as they sit third in the Premier League standings.
Unfortunately for Ten Hag, he has two concerns regarding the Englishman. The first is that Rashford had to pull out of the England camp due to a toe problem.
On Monday, Man Utd revealed that he is recovering well and is back on the grass, although he is not yet allowed to train with the rest of the squad.

It remains to be seen whether he will be fully fit in time for Man Utd’s trip to Newcastle United this weekend.
Arguably more worrying than this issue is the fact that Paris Saint-Germain are trying to capture Rashford.
Man Utd risking damaging exit
On Tuesday, The Athletic revealed that PSG have prepared a contract worth £400,000 a week for the in-form attacker to move to France. The report added that Rashford’s future at Old Trafford is ‘uncertain’ due to his contract expiring in June 2024, plus the fact Man Utd will not meet PSG’s wage offer.
Previously, The Sun have suggested that Rashford is ‘stalling’ on a new deal until he finds out what happens with the takeover situation.
Rashford leaving Man Utd would be a huge blow. He has been their best player this season alongside midfielder Casemiro, so him going would leave a major hole in the Man Utd attack. If the Manchester giants want to get properly in the mix for league titles again, they need to hold onto players like Rashford.
Luckily for Man Utd fans, it does not seem like Ten Hag will allow his star man to depart. During an interview with CaughtOffside, Romano revealed how Ten Hag has responded when Rashford has been linked with a transfer, and it is a stance which is highly likely to continue.
“PSG really wanted Rashford in summer 2022, but also in summer 2021 with [Mauricio] Pochettino as a coach. He’s always been appreciated there but for Erik ten Hag there was zero per cent chance to let Rashford leave,” Romano said.
Ten Hag will clearly have a big say in keeping Rashford, but he cannot do it alone. Senior club officials must offer Rashford a lucrative new contract to reward his top performances and keep PSG at bay. Although, this will probably only happen once the Glazers sell Man Utd to either Sir Jim Ratcliffe or Sheikh Jassim.
Meanwhile, a former England ace admits he is shocked about Ten Hag wanting to offload a Man Utd player to Newcastle.
