Championship clubs ready move with Man Utd set to terminate deal for forgotten winger

Manchester United are pondering recalling Facundo Pellistri from his loan spell with Alaves after learning of interest from the Championship, a report claims.
Pellistri joined Man Utd in October 2020 from Penarol in his native Uruguay. The winger was initially offered a first-team spot but ended up in the under-23s. A few months later, he was already on the way out, joining Alaves on loan.
He played 12 times in the second half of the La Liga season for his temporary club. Therefore, it made sense for them to continue their association together into the new season. United allowed Pellistri to remain with Alaves on another loan deal.
However, this one has been less successful. So far, the 20-year-old has only started six games in the 2021-22 La Liga. He is yet to register a goal or assist despite a further 11 substitute appearances.
Now, the Manchester Evening News has reported that Pellistri’s future is in doubt. They claim Man Utd could cancel his agreement with Alaves in favour of bringing him back to England.
There is a clause in the contract allowing United to terminate the loan should Pellistri not have managed 1000 minutes of gametime by December. It is, of course, beyond that cut-off point now and he still has only played for 593 minutes.
Therefore, United can recall Pellistri – and Alaves apparently want rid of him too. They have recently changed their manager and the new boss is even less keen to use him.

Bruno Fernandes deserves respect and big Man Utd payrise
Surely being United's best player for the last two years warrants a much higher salary.
But there would still be no place for Pellistri in United’s senior side. Instead, they would have to look for another solution so he can pick up his development again.
According to the MEN, there are a number of Championship clubs showing an interest in Pellistri.
None are named in the report, but United will be keeping an eye out as they make more plans for a player under contract until 2025.
Pellistri not only winger on way out
Man Utd signed Pellistri after initially missing out on Jadon Sancho. They eventually got their man, but to plug the gap until they could, they took Pellistri and Amad Diallo.
Now, Amad is also facing an uncertain future. He has not been loaned out yet, but chances are at a premium for him at Old Trafford.
There have also been links with a Championship move for the former Atalanta starlet. But Derby County manager Wayne Rooney has admitted that his chances of raiding Manchester United for Amad in January look slim.
What’s more, Birmingham looked at one stage like they led the race. But that deal has reportedly collapsed. Amad’s solution may instead come from abroad.
According to The Sun, Borussia Dortmund have registered initial interest in Amad.
The Bundesliga club are weighing up an approach over a loan move for the teenager.
They have a track record of signing and improving young players, such as Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland and Sancho himself.
The newspaper also noted that Feyenoord, a long-term suitor for Amad, are still showing interest.
