Man Utd get green light to sign colossal Ten Hag striker target as selling club land on replacement who matched Rashford output

Manchester United have been given a huge boost in their attempts to snare a 23-goal striker after his current club identified an ideal replacement, according to a report.
Man Utd’s hunt for a new striker is intensifying. They remain firmly in the race for Tottenham talisman Harry Kane, who will likely push for a move away from North London this summer. Real Madrid will pose the biggest threat to Man Utd as Carlo Ancelotti has informed the Spanish giants he would like Kane to lead his forward line for next season.
Both Man Utd and Madrid have also been named as potential suitors for Kylian Mbappe. The France star has just told Paris Saint-Germain that he will not be triggering the option to extend his contract until June 2025.
With Mbappe’s current terms set to expire in 2024, the decision means PSG may be forced into selling him in the coming months. Madrid is Mbappe’s preferred destination, but it remains to be seen whether they can afford him after parting with £86m to sign Jude Bellingham. While Kane would cost them in the region of £100m, Mbappe’s transfer might eclipse the £200m mark, even though his contract is winding down.
Erik ten Hag does have other attacking options in case Spurs chairman Daniel Levy prices Man Utd out of a move for Kane and Mbappe ends up going to Madrid. One striker target is Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Recent reports have suggested Man Utd will soon submit an offer to Frankfurt for Kolo Muani. He should cost slightly less than Kane at around the £85.5m mark.

On Monday, the Manchester Evening News revealed the 24-year-old had laid out some demands ahead of a potential Old Trafford move. He has told Man Utd he wants to play regularly, rather than being forced to sit on the bench. He wants to be allowed to play with freedom, while also being used in his favoured position of centre-forward. At times he has been selected at right wing, which he does not like.
Given how much money Man Utd would potentially be spending on Kolo Muani, they would likely adhere to all of these wishes.
Man Utd on alert as Frankfurt make decision
German source Frankfurter Rundschau have now provided an update on Kolo Muani’s situation. They have handed Man Utd a serious transfer lift by revealing that Frankfurt are already searching for the Frenchman’s potential replacement up front.
The player who will most likely replace the Man Utd target is 22-year-old Victor Boniface, who currently plays for Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium. Interestingly, Boniface actually matched Marcus Rashford’s Europa League tally of six goals this term, though he did it in one extra game (10 appearances to Rashford’s nine).
Boniface’s contract with Union SG runs until 2026, which means he will not be available on the cheap. However, the potentially huge fee Frankfurt will get from Kolo Muani’s sale means they should have enough money to sign Boniface as well as improve other parts of the squad.
Should Frankfurt miss out on Boniface, then their backup option to replace Kolo Muani is FC Augsburg ace Ermedin Demirovic. The German-born Bosnia international managed eight goals in 30 Bundesliga outings this season.
Ten Hag will be delighted to hear that Frankfurt are preparing for Kolo Muani’s departure. It means they are gradually warming to his possible exit.
It is now up to Man Utd to formalise negotiations with Frankfurt and submit that opening offer which has been talked about. This represents the first step towards replacing the likes of Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst, who are simply not up to scratch.
