Harry Kane: Man Utd move takes leap forward with Rashford impacted and salary offer, shirt No emerging

Manchester United are reportedly set to offer Tottenham striker Harry Kane a staggering £300,000 per week contract as they look to sign him this summer.

Erik ten Hag has put the Spurs forward at the top of his transfer shortlist, while he is also keen to tie down Marcus Rashford to a fresh deal.

As a result, Man Utd are allegedly planning to offer Rashford the same wage, meaning their strike partnership could be worth £600,000 a week next term.

This is according to the Sun, who claim that the Red Devils are planning to make Kane and Rashford top earners next season, by offering them both £300,000 per week deals.

The report also adds that David de Gea will have to take a pay cut to make the deals possible. The Spaniard currently earns £375,000 per week, but with his contract set to expire this summer, he will now be offered a maximum weekly salary of £200,000.

As previously reported by TEAMtalk, Tottenham will demand a fee of £88m for Kane this summer. However, Man Utd will face competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.

Kane tipped to take Martial’s no. 9 shirt

As noted by the Daily ExpressAnthony Martial’s number nine shirt at Man Utd could be available next season.

Indeed, Martial hasn’t completed a full 90 minutes in the Premier League since January of 2021. Injuries have ravaged his career over recent seasons, while a loan spell with Sevilla did little to relight his fire.

As a result, he is expected to leave Man Utd at the end of the season. This would give Kane the opportunity to take his shirt number.

Kane, of course, wears number nine for England, so it would make sense for him to do the same for the Red Devils.

Overall, in 429 appearances for Tottenham, the 29-year-old has scored 274 goals, along with making 63 assists – giving him an unbelievable average of 0.79 goal contributions per match.

This season, Kane has continued his typically prolific form, in a struggling Spurs side. In 32 Premier League outings, he has netted 24 times, trailing only Erling Haaland in the scoring charts.

Looking at those stats, the England captain arguably has the quality to turn Man Utd into serial title contenders again.

With that in mind, it’s no surprise Ten Hag is willing to offer Kane £300,000 a week to convince him to make the switch to Old Trafford.

A strike partnership of Rashford and Kane is certainly a mouth-watering prospect, so it will be interesting to see if Man Utd can beat Bayern Munich and PSG to Kane’s signature.
