‘He should leave’ – Man Utd man urged to ditch Ten Hag who’s lost faith; major update on dominant replacement

A high profile Man Utd star who Erik ten Hag is souring on has been urged to leave, and a major update on his potential replacement makes grim reading for United fans.
It’s been a chastening season for Man Utd captain, Harry Maguire. The arrival of Lisandro Martinez has seen Ten Hag install the Argentine and Raphael Varane as his go-to pairing at centre-back.
Left-back Luke Shaw has also been deployed out of position at centre-half on numerous occasions. Club legend Rio Ferdinand previously claimed he’d have strangled left-back Patrice Evra if Sir Alex Ferguson had done to him what Ten Hag has done to Maguire involving Shaw.
£80m signings are not made to warm the bench and per the Manchester Evening News, Maguire has been put up for sale.
Finding a buyer will be difficult given Maguire’s age (30) and his sky high salary. However, according to Man Utd treble winner, Jaap Stam, Maguire must bite the bullet and push through a move.
In quotes carried by Goal, Stam said: “If I was Maguire, looking at him and how it’s working out for him, or how it’s going this season, I would have said [he should leave], and I think that’s best for him as well because he needs to play.
“You’re at a certain age that you want to play, you need to play football. It seems like Ten Hag doesn’t always believe in Maguire.
“I think the best thing to do is to go somewhere where you can play week in, week out.”
Worrying update on potential Maguire replacement
Man Utd’s top priority in the market this summer is signing an elite-level centre-forward. Tottenham’s Harry Kane is the player Ten Hag has fixed his gaze on, per the MEN.
However, a new central midfielder will then come into focus, as will replacing Maguire if he’s given the boot.
Napoli colossus Kim Min-jae has emerged as a concrete Man Utd target and the South Korean’s contract contains a €47m release clause.
The clause activates during a two-week window at the start of July. South Korean military service is likely to prevent Man Utd from wrapping up a move in the first month of the window.
Varying reports have claimed Kim to Man Utd is a virtual done deal. However, according to the player’s camp, such claims are distinctly premature.
Speaking to South Korean publication Star News, Kim’s people insist talk of a move to United simply isn’t true.
“The transfer to Manchester United is not true,” Kim’s representatives said.
“Currently, Kim Min-jae is focusing on finishing the season. In the case of the English Premier League, the qualification to the Champions League or the final standings have not been decided. There is no need to move.”
While that update isn’t fatal to United’s chances, it has at the very least poured cold water on the situation for the time being.
