Juventus to offload former Man Utd ‘virus’ for staggeringly small fee as Saudi switch takes shape

Jose Mourinho alongside former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba
Juventus are willing to sell former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba for as little as €10m (approx. £8.5m) this summer, according to reports.
The France international has barely featured since returning to the Italian club on a free transfer last summer.
Now, it seems Juventus are so desperate to get Pogba’s sky-high wages off the books that they are willing to accept a cut-price offer.
When Pogba joined Man Utd for £94.5m in 2016, he was widely touted to become one of the top midfielders in Europe.
However, he never lived up to his potential. Overall, Pogba made 233 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 39 goals and making 51 assists.
While those are decent numbers, Pogba’s influence in the changing room has been described as detrimental by some of his former managers.
For example, according to The Sun, Jose Mourinho called Pogba a ‘virus’ in front of his teammates.
“You are like a person with a flu with a virus in a closed room – you pass that virus to the others,” Mourinho allegedly said.
“You don’t play, you don’t respect players and supporters and you kill the mentality of good, honest people around you.”
Juve are desperate to sell Pogba
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are willing to accept a bid of €10m (£8.5m) for Pogba.
This will allow the Italian club to avoid making a capital loss on the 30-year-old, who earns around €8m per season in Turin.
Pogba was recently spotted in Saudi. Whilst the trip was officially for personal reasons, he reportedly visited the facilities of both Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli.
Now, as per the report, Al Ahli are not only willing to meet Juventus’ price tag. But, they will also give Pogba a gigantic pay rise.
It’s claimed the Saudi club offered Pogba a contract worth around €100m (approx. £___) over three years, which he rejected.
But, they are now ready to table an improved offer, to the tune of €150m in total across three years.
If Pogba accepts that contract, he will become the latest high-profile player to ditch European football for Saudi.
The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Neves have already made the move, and this is a trend that looks set to continue for the foreseeable future.
With that in mind, barring any late twists, it looks like Pogba will become an Al-Ahli player this summer.
