Man Utd and Arsenal learn £69m asking price for striker target who scored at the World Cup

Reports have claimed that Juventus have set their asking price for star striker Dusan Vlahovic as the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked.
Vlahovic has been the main source of goals for Juventus this season. The 22-year-old has scored six league goals and is their top scorer in this campaign.
The Serbian forward recently featured at the World Cup and scored in Serbia’s dramatic 3-2 loss against Switzerland. Vlahovic has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs.
Juventus signed the striker earlier this year in January and he has scored 16 goals in 36 appearances so far. As things stand, Juventus are third in Serie A and 10 points behind Napoli.
Italian outlet Calciomercato have claimed that Juventus would be looking for a bid in excess of €80m (£69m) in order to sell one of their prized assets.
Vlahovic has been linked with both Man Utd and Arsenal as each club is in the market for another striker. Arsenal have Gabriel Jesus’ injury to contend with while United are seeking to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Serbian forward has an excellent scoring record in the Serie A as he impressed for Fiorentina before Juventus picked him up.
Across 108 appearances for Fiorentina, the forward scored 49 goals and was especially prolific during his final two seasons with the club.
Given Arsenal and Man Utd’s needs in the January window, a move for Vlahovic would make sense if they could perhaps negotiate Juventus’ lofty asking price down.
Man Utd have other targets
Erik ten Hag has been tasked with achieving a top-four finish come the end of the season and he will need to add more firepower to his squad in January to get them over the line.
When asked if United are in need of another forward next month, Ten Hag explained (via Manchester Evening News): “Yes, but only when we find the right player. We do everything in our power.
“We are doing research on every opportunity and we do everything we can if that opportunity is there to contract them.”
Along with Vlahovic, Man Utd have also been linked with several other forwards. Eredivisie stars Cody Gakpo and Mohammed Kudus have also been on their radar.
Ten Hag still has faith in Antony Martial, but recognises he needs to stay fit. He explained: “The first challenge for him is to be available and fit which, firstly, he has to be responsible for it but we have to support him in all the ways we can.
“We have seen when he is available he has a massive impact on our game. He has 293 minutes, four goals and two assists. That’s a really good record.
“In parts of his game, like pressing, he is doing a really good job for the team linking up the play. For our team, he’s a really important player and we need that profile.”
