Man Utd decide unsettled attacker is worth €5m more than teammate as double sale takes shape

Man Utd have set their valuation of Anthony Martial after learning that the same club already targeting another of their players are interested in him, per a report.
Martial is approaching the final year of his contract at Man Utd, unless they activate an option to extend it by a further 12 months. He has struggled with injuries this season, limiting him to just six starts in the Premier League.
One of Man Utd’s priorities in the next transfer window will be to add a new target man up front. With that in mind, Martial risks falling further down the pecking order.
Therefore, after eight seasons, it might be time for him to leave Man Utd. And according to an Italian report, he could be on his way to Inter Milan.
According to Inter Live, the France international has found his way onto the Serie A side’s radar. For the transfer to happen, Man Utd would be looking to receive a fee in the region of €20million (£17.6m).
Meanwhile, Inter have already been looking at fringe Man Utd defender Victor Lindelof, who would cost €15m (£13.2m).
Lindelof is similarly under contract until 2024 with Man Utd, who again have a one-year option. He only has five Premier League starts to his name so far this season.
Erik ten Hag has preferred to use Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane at centre-back. Therefore, Lindelof is considering his future.
There is a chance that Martial and Lindelof could still be teammates next season, but this time for Inter rather than Man Utd.
Places waiting in Inter squad for Martial and Lindelof
In attack, the Nerazzurri are debating the future of ex-Man Utd striker Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan from Chelsea. Furthermore, former Man City forward Edin Dzeko will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, at the back, they are set to lose Milan Skriniar at the end of his contract. Stefan de Vrij is also approaching free agency.
Therefore, they have good reason to be looking at targets in either position. Martial and Lindelof, aged 27 and 28 respectively, are players of decent enough pedigree who might become available.
The combined €35m (£30.7m) asking price for the pair seems reasonable from Man Utd’s perspective. Even though neither of the Inter targets have been regular starters this season, they are useful players who still have plenty of time remaining in their respective careers.
Neither Martial nor Lindelof has played in Serie A before, but have tested themselves in other territories. Therefore, they could find the Inter project an enticing one to sign up for if finances allow.
There, they could link up with ex-Man Utd colleagues Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian.
