Man Utd find buyer for flop they’re desperate to ditch in double exit including stagnating star

Man Utd pair Alex Telles and Anthony Elanga linked with Galatasaray
Man Utd could be ready to negotiate the departure of Alex Telles to one of his former clubs as part of a double deal, according to a report.
Telles is on the lookout for a new club after returning to Man Utd from a loan spell with Sevilla. There is only one year remaining on the left-back’s contract at Old Trafford, after all. Therefore, Man Utd are ready to sell him this summer.
Rumours of a move to Benfica were recently ruled out. However, there could still be a market for Telles elsewhere. According to Aksam, he is now on the radar of Galatasaray.
Telles previously played for the Turkish Super Lig side between January 2014 and August 2015. Since then, he has represented Inter, Porto, Man Utd and Sevilla.
Now, eager to make an impression in next season’s Champions League, Galatasaray would like to take Telles back. They have a vacancy in their squad at left-back that he could fill.
The price they would be willing to pay for him remains to be seen. However, any transfer would have to be a permanent arrangement.
Telles played 38 times for Sevilla last season but failed to score for the Europa League champions. Back at Old Trafford, he is behind Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia in the pecking order at left-back.
In addition to Telles, Galatasaray are apparently looking at another Man Utd player in the shape of Anthony Elanga as they aim to strengthen further forward out wide, per the report.
Elanga joins Telles on Galatasaray wish list
Still only 21 years old, Elanga has shown his potential while developing in the Man Utd setup. However, his progress has stagnated in recent months.
Indeed, the attacker failed to score at all from 26 appearances across all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign. In his defence, he only started five Premier League games, but that is still indicative of his potential need for a new challenge.
To get his development back on track, it might be useful for Elanga to go out on loan. Galatasaray are weighing up that type of offer, since they believe the Sweden international could make an impact for them.
Man Utd still have Elanga under contract until 2026, so time is still on their side if they want to lend him elsewhere for a season.
It is not yet clear if Galatasaray intend to ask for an option to buy Elanga after any potential loan spell. Whatever happens, he may have to leave Man Utd temporarily for the first time in his career ahead of the new season.
