Man Utd, Liverpool ready to move for attacker Chelsea want to ‘hurt’ current club, but threatening suitor takes centre stage

Youssoufa Moukoko is attracting interest from four other Premier League clubs after offers from Chelsea and Newcastle, TEAMtalk has been told.

Moukoko has become one of the most desirable attacking prospects in European football thanks to his form for Borussia Dortmund. This season, the teenager has scored six goals from 14 appearances in the Bundesliga.

Thus, it is already the most prolific season of his blossoming career. At the age of 18, there should be lots more to come from the Germany international.

But Borussia Dortmund might not be the club where he fulfils his potential. Moukoko’s contract there is due to expire at the end of the season.

Although the Bundesliga side are trying to keep him, he may end up with better offers from elsewhere. With that in mind, German sources have now been suggesting it is more likely for Moukoko to change clubs than to extend his stay with Dortmund.

Chelsea and Newcastle have been among the main suitors for Moukoko up until now. But there is likely to be plenty of interest from other clubs for his signature too if he is available as a free agent in the summer.

As such, TEAMtalk has reached out to our transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, for the latest on who might be interested in Moukoko.

And along with the two Premier League clubs that have made offers to him, the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United have been revealed as contenders too.

Bailey told TEAMtalk: “One of the biggest teenage talents in Europe, a lot of Premier League clubs had presumed that he would be re-signing at Borussia Dortmund – but that is not the case.

“Dortmund don’t often lose stars in this manner and this will hurt them, being homegrown. I understand that Dortmund are facing up to the prospect of losing him now as their offer to him is way off what he wants or indeed what he can get elsewhere.

“It is no surprise that Premier League clubs are virtually queueing up to land him. Chelsea and Newcastle have both made offers, we know that, but they are not alone. I am told Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United are all keeping abreast of the situation and are ready to come in.”

After all, this could be a rare opportunity to secure the services of a talented forward who could blossom into a reliable goalscorer in years to come.

Four foreign suitors for Moukoko identified

That said, Moukoko will also have options to take into account from mainland Europe. And in that regard, one suitor in particular has become a “real threat” due to the striker’s own dreams.

Bailey added: “Juventus, Napoli and Atletico Madrid also like him a lot, but the one foreign team who is the real threat to everyone is Barcelona. I am told Moukoko has always been a huge fan of the club and sees the prospect of moving to the Nou Camp as something of a dream.

“Dortmund are continuing talks but they are very much starting to accept that they are set to lose one of their best ever prospects this summer – but they haven’t given up yet.”

Moukoko’s all-time record for Dortmund reads 59 appearances, 11 goals and eight assists. He has been with them since 2016, when he joined their academy, and has been a first-team player since November 2020.

In the coming months, Moukoko will have to firm up a decision about the next step of his career.
