Man Utd receive monumental Kylian Mbappe blow as Real Madrid plot last-minute bid for PSG superstar
Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to submit a £103m bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe in the final few days of the transfer window.
The France international has less than 12 months remaining on his current contract and it’s no secret that he is open to a switch to the Bernabeu.
That is despite a host of top European clubs queuing up for Mbappe’s signature.
As reported by TEAMtalk, Mbappe’s mother and agent has been pushing for the striker to sign for Manchester United on a free transfer next summer.
The 24-year-old would be a game-changing addition for the Red Devils. Mbappe has scored a near-supernatural 213 goals in 261 appearances for PSG, as well as making 98 assists. This gives him an average of 1.19 goal contributions per match.
With that in mind, Mbappe arguably has the quality to turn Man Utd into serial Premier League title contenders again.
Real Madrid, however, remain the favourites to sign the Frenchman and are plotting a bid for him this summer, rather than waiting until the end of the season.

Real Madrid prepare £103m Mbappe bid
According to German outlet Bild, Real Madrid are ‘preparing to launch a £103m bid’ for Mbappe in the ‘final three days’ of the transfer window.
This will put pressure on PSG, who are desperate not to lose Mbappe on a free transfer next summer. As mentioned, he has so far refused to sign a contract extension with the Ligue 1 champions.
PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has already confirmed his intention to sell the striker if he does not agree a new deal.
“My position is very clear,” he said. “I don’t want to repeat it every time: if Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract.
“We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, we can’t do that. He said he would never leave for free. If he changes his mind today, it’s not my fault. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, that’s very clear.”
Bild’s report states that Real Madrid’s desire to sign Mbappe a year early has been precipitated by Karim Benzema leaving the club. Whether or not their planned £103m offer will be accepted, however, still remains to be seen.
