Manchester United might still be able to offload one of their unwanted stars as they have been made aware of interest from a Turkish club.

The Reds had a productive summer transfer window as they were able to sign the likes of Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Altay Bayindir.

Erik ten Hag also boosted his options by signing Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon on loan. However, Man Utd were unable to shift all of their unwanted stars.

The club had tried to offload the likes of Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek and Eric Bailly, but they were unable to do so for varying reasons.

While the Premier League transfer window has now closed, clubs from Turkey can continue to sign players until September 15 which Man Utd could use to their advantage.

Former Man Utd stars Fred and Wilfried Zaha have moved to Turkey this year and Besiktas are now eyeing up another Premier League star.

As reported by Sport Witness, Besiktas are interested in Bailly and a deal could be completed ‘very quickly’ according to the report.

While the Turkish transfer window runs until September 15, Besiktas are in a race against time to get this deal over the line.

As they will want to include Bailly in their Conference League squad, they must get this deal over the line as soon as possible.

Bailly needs a fresh start

The Man Utd defender is out of contract next summer and he won’t gain much from sitting on the sidelines at Old Trafford this season.

Bailly spent last season out on loan with Marseille and while the French side did have the option to purchase the defender, they opted against this clause.

Both Fulham and Al-Nassr had been linked with the Man Utd defender over the summer, but neither of these moves materialised in the end.

The 29-year-old defender has racked up 113 appearances for Man Utd since joining the club in 2016. Bailly has had his moments in a United shirt, although his time at Old Trafford has largely been hampered by injury.

A fresh start in a new European league could be the best thing for his career right now. The defender as averaged a mere 19 appearances per season while at Man Utd.

Besiktas would give him the chance to play regularly and would also give him the option to continue his career in Europe. With the Turkish club seemingly keen on a quick deal, this deal could advance rapidly.
