Man Utd to pocket impressive sum with Andreas Pereira medical booked, as Fulham double up with winger loan

Man Utd loanee Andreas Pereira at Flamengo

The final sum Man Utd could receive for Andreas Pereira has been confirmed, and buying club Fulham could quickly double up after a second target passed a medical.

Pereira has been on Manchester United’s books since 2011. The midfielder has never truly established himself at Old Trafford, and recent seasons have seen several loan exits sanctioned.

He had looked on course to join Brazilian side Flamengo on a permanent basis following a largely successful loan stint. However, Flamengo’s difficulties in financing a deal opened the door for Fulham.

Marco Silva’s newly-promoted side began the window slowly, much to their manager’s frustration.

However, the Cottagers are finally coming to the fore, with Joao Palhinha recently arriving from Sporting Lisbon.

A deal to sign Andreas Pereira was then agreed, with the finer details now being confirmed.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted Pereira will sign a three-year deal with a club option for an extra 12 months.

United will receive an initial £10m, potentially rising to £13m pending add-ons. That represents smart business from the Red Devils for a player who has always been on the periphery.

Romano added a medical has been pencilled in to take place in London on Thursday. If passed, official confirmation of the move could quickly follow.

Andreas Pereira to join Manor Solomon

Joining Pereira at Craven Cottage will be Manor Solomon.

The Israel international, 22, plays on the wing for Shakhtar Donetsk and had been the subject of intense speculation linking him with a permanent move worth £6m.

However, a FIFA ruling relating to Ukraine-based players brought a halt to those plans. Instead, Fulham quickly got to work over a loan deal and per Romano, Solomon has already passed a medical.

90min stated the deal will be for the full campaign.

Man Utd clear-out underway

Erik ten Hag’s side have a plethora of irons in the fire regarding arrivals, but almost as important are the squad players they are clearing out.

Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic have already left as free agents.

Pereira was named as one of seven more United stars that are available for permanent transfer. Deals in that respect would help to bolster Ten Hag’s transfer kitty after reports claimed he’d only have £100m to spend prior to player sales.

Anthony Martial is a player who may yet be handed a reprieve by the Dutchman, however. And with Cristiano Ronaldo’s future uncertain, Martial may yet play a bigger role next season than anyone had anticipated.
