Man Utd striker target drops ‘we will see’ tease amid claims £100m Ten Hag bid has been lodged

Randal Kolo Muani, Eintracht Frankfurt during Bundesliga game v FC Cologne

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani has outlined his dreams of playing at a higher level after dropping a major hint on his future amid claims he is wanted in a £100m-plus deal by Manchester United.

The Red Devils want a new No 9 to spearhead their attack next season in what many see as being a push for the title. United boss Erik ten Hag is planning another huge assault on the transfer market with three big signings reportedly planned.

And with a new defender and a new midfielder in his sights, planning for the summer window is already underway.

To that end, the club are already in talks with Monaco defender Axel Disasi, who can operate at centre-half or right-back.

And reports on Wednesday suggest efforts to prise a former Liverpool midfielder to Old Trafford are gathering pace.

However, United’s biggest investment is likely to come up front.

Ten Hag wants to bring in an outstanding new centre forward to lead the line. To that end, Wout Weghorst will be sent back to parent club Burnley.

Contenders to fill the gap for United have seen them linked with some of the world’s best strikers. And in Harry Kane, Victor Osimhem and Goncalo Ramos, Ten Hag and Co are likely preparing to shatter their transfer record this summer were one of them to sign.

However, deals for all three look complex to say the least. Tottenham would be loathe to see Kane, for example, depart for a Premier League rival.

And any deal for Osimhen will hit United hard amid claims they are demanding £132.2m (€150m).

Kolo Muani in big Man Utd transfer tease

However, they could have more joy if they pursue a fourth option in Kolo Muani.

The striker was a free transfer signing from Nantes last summer, and has adapted brilliantly to his new surroundings.

To date he has 16 goals and 10 assists from 35 appearances, form which earned him a place in France’s World Cup squad.

Now it has emerged that United are among those casting admiring glances his way. And a report last week claimed Frankfurt have responded to interest from the Red Devils by slapping a £105.8m (€120m) price on his head.

However, the Bundesliga side are willing to sanction his sale were that price to be met.

And now the striker, having been asked directly about links to United, has dropped a big tease about a possible move.

Speaking to L’Equipe, he said: “We talk about it a lot already, but I try to be focused on my club. We continue our performances and we will see this summer. Afterwards, I always dreamed of playing in big clubs.

Asked about his excellent form in the Bundesliga, he continued: “No. I thought I was going to need some time to adapt, maybe a year. But everything exploded. Either way, I’m ready for any challenge.

Striker always looking to improve himself

Speaking about his statistics, the 24-year-old claims it inspires him to try and better his own records.

“A lot. I ask the club to get me my statistics on my matches each time. And I share this with my physical trainer to know what to improve. I do a lot of goals and assists, but it’s not at the level where I should be. I still miss quite a bit. This is only my third (full) season as a pro,” he stressed.

Despite Kolo Muani’s tease, it would come a surprise were United to genuinely try and bring him to Old Trafford. Their main objective is likely to be Osimhen, despite Napoli’s massive valuation.

They will also keep a watching brief over Kane, particularly with his deal due to expire in summer 2024.

However, were they to move for Kolo Muani, they would be landing a striker with a genuine appetite to improve and better himself.
