Neymar ‘unhappy’ with PSG treatment as Man Utd, Newcastle transfer avenues open up

Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United are all interested in signing Neymar, with the star reportedly unhappy in Paris.
Neymar is highly-regarded as one of the most talented wingers in the world of football. Having joined PSG for a world-record fee in 2017, the Brazilian is no stranger to a major transfer move. Now, a summer deal could be on the cards as reports suggest Neymar is looking for a move away.
According to RMC Sport, Neymar is considering a move away from the Ligue 1 champions. It is believed he is unhappy with the treatment he has received from the club.
The report includes comments made by my PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi. During an interview, he refused to confirm that Neymar will be staying with the club next season.
He also went on to say that whoever remains at the club will be expected to perform much better than last season.
He said: “A possible departure of Neymar this summer? What I can tell you is that we expect all players to do a lot more than last season. A lot more!
“They all have to to be 100 per cent. Obviously, we weren’t good enough to go far. For next season, the objective is clear: to work every day at 200 per cent. To give everything we have for this jersey, give the maximum and we will see the result.
“You have to become humble again. You have to change to avoid injuries, suspensions and fouls that change a game.”
Despite winning the league comfortably, PSG were once again knocked out the Champions League at the last 16 stage.
They were defeated by Real Madrid 3-2 over two legs in a stunning comeback in March.
Neymar followed by Premier League clubs
Following this news, a number of Premier League clubs have been once again linked with a move.
Chelsea, Man Utd and Newcastle are said to be the only three clubs that could afford his services.
However, he is still one of the world’s highest-paid footballers. That being said, a sizeable transfer fee alongside the wages may prove too much for any club.
Having paid £198m for his services in 2017, PSG will look for some return on that investment.
If the 30-year-old winger was serious about a move away, he could tell the club which would drop his price.
Juventus were also rumoured to be interested. However, the Italian giants are believed to have pulled out of the race because of his wage demands.
Chelsea may be the most likely candidates given their recent takeover from American businessman Todd Boehly. However, the potential signings of Ousmane Dembele and Raheem Sterling would surely rule out Neymar.
Regardless, following the comments made by Al Khelaifi, it seems the days of Neymar transfer talk are far from over.
