Man Utd star Paul Pogba had agreement in place with huge Prem rival before turning back on transfer – report

A report has revealed Paul Pogba had an agreement in place to join a significant Premier League club from Manchester United, only to pull out of the transfer.
The central midfielder has endured a poor campaign at Old Trafford, along with most of his Manchester United team-mates. The Red Devils sit sixth in the Premier League with one match remaining and are on course to miss out on Champions League qualification by around 10 points.
Pogba is on the verge of leaving Manchester United at the end of the season. His contract expires on June 30, meaning he can move on as a free agent.
Juventus are one of the major European teams hoping to secure a transfer coup. They know how to get the best out of the Frenchman after his successful spell in Turin between 2012 and 2016.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been keeping tabs on Pogba’s situation. However, Juve are the most likely club on the continent to snare him.
A bombshell report from The Times now claims Pogba recently agreed personal terms with one of United’s biggest rivals.
He had an agreement in principle with City, which would have been a huge transfer across Manchester.
Few players wear both the red and blue jerseys in their careers. Carlos Tevez is one recent example, and he isn’t exactly liked by United fans as a result.
Paul Pogba in transfer U-turn
Pogba clearly knew this would happen and soon completed a U-turn. He thought life would be ‘unbearable’ if he remained in Manchester and played for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 29-year-old’s priority is now to secure a move abroad. As such, Juve look like they are in the best position.
The legacy Pogba will leave at United is an interesting one. He has put in some great performances for the club, while also helping them to win a few tophies.

Paul Pogba offered 3 year deal by Juventus
Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United this summer and has been offered a 3 year deal by Juventus but PSG still want him
They have picked up two Carabao Cups and one Europa League crown during his two spells at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, Pogba has also come in for plenty of criticism. He cost £89million and many would argue he hasn’t lived up to this price tag.
One of the star’s main problems is consistency. He has never been United’s best player for a whole season, despite being one of the most expensive men in the squad.
His decision to reject City is completely understandable. This would make some United fans actively dislike him and he would be booed at every return to Old Trafford.
Pogba would probably thrive if he went back to Juve, too – much to the annoyance of the United faithful.
Max Allegri has worked with him before and knows the best type of midfielders to partner him with.
Meanwhile, United have sorted out a new contract with a youth player who has a familiar surname.
